On “Senior Executive Service” as shown in comment #43 with a link,...

...is there a Senior Executive Service? Are there really such appointees? If so, wouldn’t they be “federal civil officers” in re. impeachment? The following, though a resource from 2015, is very clear and informative for those who haven’t had the time to look into it before.

Impeachment and Removal

Impeachment is important and needs to be done sometimes. For one, it’s the only kind of investigation that many conservatives can trust now to be used for later actions. For another, there’s quite an effort by Democrats to impeach our President instead of impeaching those who should be impeached. Some crimes or improprieties need very much to be recorded for future reference and actions. There are better reasons that I don’t have time to go into right now.

Representative Trey Gowdy and others have been working around the clock to get the right kind of investigation done right. At times, Gowdy’s eyes have shown his round-the-clock effort to do the best that he can.

Many times in the past, I worked long days and nights before polishing my boots to a high shine and pressing a uniform in preparation for an early morning formation and driving many miles to come to attention with a snap.

That’s how my eyes looked in platoon formation. They’re not evil eyes. They’re the hard working eyes of someone willing to give himself for his country. Representative Gowdy and his fellow conservative members of the Committee have my respect. The amount of material that they and their staff members have gleaned through for us must be enormous.

SES is the pay scale for government executives, including the President’s Cabinet.

It is the level above GS. GS employees have protections that SES employees don’t. I believe the President can fire any SES employee, but can’t fire GS employees.

The SES turns over 10-15% per year, as many equivalent private sector jobs pay much more.

Pay scale and listing of which jobs are SES:

Agree - it’s stretching way out of shape to attribute nefariousness to eye bags - did much the same as you in my 24 years in uniform and 15 in civil service working with the military - lots of long hours over those 39 years....
