“By a government ban?”

Why not! Make ties a safety hazard.

(Kidding. Not a fascist type, but God I hate neckties.)

Any company that wants to give a professional appearance to the public should require those who have contact with the public in a professional way, dress the part. Ties are a traditional way to project a professional appearance. They in no way project an appearance of the oppressor over the oppressed. They project an expertise in their field.

I only wear ties at special events and in settings where professional-looking attire is expected. When I managed a professional staff, I imposed a dress code where ties were FORBIDDEN.

He’s a lawyer who (it is said) forbade anyone in his firm from telling lawyer jokes.

Lancaster is probably most famous for Frank Zappa living there in his early days.

Zappa said of living in Lancaster: “I have a great deal of sympathy for anybody who is a creative individual and who is stuck in a town with that kind of mentality. If you happen to be a person who is different … your life can be made to be pretty miserable.”

Never liked neckties. They’re a safety hazard, The only time I wear one nowadays is at funerals. There are some jobs for which they should they should be banned.

That and a Civil War was what it took to end slavery.

In lieu of neckties all employees will be required to wear an Elizabethan ruff.
