“By a government ban?”
Why not! Make ties a safety hazard.
(Kidding. Not a fascist type, but God I hate neckties.)

No neckties here:

Any company that wants to give a professional appearance to the public should require those who have contact with the public in a professional way, dress the part. Ties are a traditional way to project a professional appearance. They in no way project an appearance of the oppressor over the oppressed. They project an expertise in their field.

I only wear ties at special events and in settings where professional-looking attire is expected. When I managed a professional staff, I imposed a dress code where ties were FORBIDDEN.

Lancaster is probably most famous for Frank Zappa living there in his early days.
Zappa said of living in Lancaster: I have a great deal of sympathy for anybody who is a creative individual and who is stuck in a town with that kind of mentality. If you happen to be a person who is different
your life can be made to be pretty miserable.

Never liked neckties. They’re a safety hazard, The only time I wear one nowadays is at funerals. There are some jobs for which they should they should be banned.

That and a Civil War was what it took to end slavery.
Let’s not have to go that far this time, shall we?
