President Donald Trump released a letter he recently received from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and praised the "great progress" being made in talks with Pyongyang.
The letter is dated July 6, and was given to Secretary of State Pompeo delegation to deliver to Trump while the group was in Pyongyang last week to continue talks on denuclearizing the Korean peninsula, senior administration officials tell CNN.
"A very nice note from Chairman Kim of North Korea. Great progress being made," Trump said in a tweet that also included a copy of the correspondence from Kim....

I hope the negotiations don’t run into language difficulties. It’s said that Japanese has a way of saying yes that means “yes I hear” not “yes I agree” which has caused naive negotiators to make missteps. I hope the North Korean translator understands similar nuances.
I fear this will blow up in Trumps face. The NORKs are dirty rat bastards and can’t be trusted. They will violate any agreement.
That region is a hellhole. Maybe the best we can expect is for them to blow hot and cold for quite a while.

If for some reason they don’t give up their nuclear weapons we increase sanctions and attack them if they threaten us. There is no “losing” in this situation.
One way or another, Trump is going to deal with Kim.
So if Kim does renege, Trump will simply have to deal with it.
Un can take the easy way, or the hard way.
One way he remains alive.

His Japanese date lectures him. When Selleck answers, “Hai.” She asks, “Hai, as in yes, I agree; or Hai, as in, I hear you, but I’m going to do as I please anyway?!”

Mr. Trump has demonstrated with Mr. Kim that he understands very well how to negotiate with Asians. Hint: Don’t cause them to lose face at home.

Trump has made more progress with NK than all previous presidents combined.
Donald sure has made them an astounding proposal. I “hope” and “pray” it works. Practically, I would not at all be surprised to see NK blow hot and cold for a long time after this, as the relationship proceeds in fitful lurches. How do you decompress a hellhole in a way that doesn’t entail decapitating it?

That’s why I call him Mr. Kim now, because I believe he may not be the little ogre the Deep State Media has portrayed him as. If they say it, it must not be true, so whatever he is, it isn’t what they’ve made him out to be.
He’s got ogre right down to his marrow. The problem he’s got is that he’s ogred himself right to the brink of hellfire and he knows that too.
I mean... if he now follows Donald’s cue then that’s a rough analogy of the Christian story of following a Savior to salvation. And the political ogre-osity will be worked out of Kim’s system. Maybe that’s what you’re getting at, but I wasn’t sure.
For now, I’ll believe the NORKS rather than the media.
