You ought to read the Canadian Charter. It lists all sorts of rights and then gives the government the “Notwithstanding Clause” that allows the government to violate those rights at will.
Meaning they have no actual rights.

Period! I’m a little over an hour from the Canadian border. Every couple of months we drive up to B.C. to buy my wife’s insulin which is a fraction of the cost here in Washington and doesn’t require a prescription. Other than that I hate going up there; the whole place is creepy. I can’t see much difference from any other European Socialist country. Even on the sunniest day of summer it just strikes me as dull and gray. The people just seem to have given up being free.
