Schools are extremely powerful politically.

Teachers tell the students what to think and who to vote for (when not whining about being underpaid - a lie).

The children then tell their largely uniformed parents what the teachers said.

Couple that with the endorsement and the huge financial input the union provides and politicians are pre-screened to be subservient to the union.

Many/most parents do not have the time or resources to provide non-government education.

To answer your question - Trump is in the fight of his life, We The People must take on the teachers union.

Beyond the rank anti-American indoctrination, the public schools commandeer students’ time without teaching them even the basics they need to be be smart, capable and informed citizens.

Occupy youth from 6-18 without educating them and it becomes nearly impossible, for example, to teach them in adulthood to write coherently.
