Farmers value farmland. That kind of rules out Australia. The Africaaners know the value of P.C.—that rules out Canada.
Trump to them likely looks like an asset—perhaps a bigger asset than Putin—but then you have to compare the value of this asset with how the executive and the rest of the government are likely to function in the long term.
The choice to me seems at best ambivalent, and if my attachment to North America is taken into account, I am willing to concede that it may seem very clear to the South Africans.

They have been propagandized to be anti US.
