McCain Tweets in Support of Kavanaugh
Twitter ^ | July 9, 2018 | John McCain

Judge Brett Kavanaugh has impeccable credentials & a strong record of upholding the Constitution. He is widely respected as a fair, independent & mainstream judge. I look forward to the Senate moving forward with a fair & thorough confirmation process.

McCain is getting more and more like Generalissimo Francisco Franco, who is, by the way, still dead.

There’s nothing to be inferred from his support of Kavanaugh. McCain supported Thomas, Gorsuch, Roberts and Alito as well.

If he really supports him, he would resign so somebody that was capable of traveling to Washington and vote could be appointed to his Senate Seat. Can somebody explain to me the logic behind the fact that he hasn’t resigned yet?

I think this was his signal to Murkowski and Collins to get on board.

McTraitor has been so wrong for our country. Is it possible that, at last before he is officially dead, he gets something right?

No. It is not even remotely possible.

I didn’t feel Kavanaugh was a mistake until I read this. Now I have a bad feeling about it.

McCain will summon the will to be the 50th vote in person, so the moment and the legacy will be about him, not Trump or Justice Kavanaugh. It least in his mind.

Really surprised he is on board. Makes it far easier.

He needs to do alive interview to prove what condition he is.
A Democrat can suggest a quorum is not present.

McCain is first and foremost a Republican? McCain is first and foremost for McCain.

Throughout his lifetime McLame has been wrong about 99% of the time. His support makes me strongly wonder if DJT has made a mistake here.

Are you declaring Republicans to be persona non grata?

Before answering this question we must settle on a definition of "Republican".

Have to think this news virtually guarantees Kavanaugh’s confirmation is a lock.

If Juan McCain is signalling THUMBS UP to Kavanaugh’s selection, how can Collins, Murkowski, his fellow AZ senator Flake, etc., not vote to confirm Kavanaugh???
How can any GOP senator not take this as a cue to approve Kavanaugh??

BTW, while Kavanaugh gives me some pause about his background with George W., one needs to bear in mind that any current tenured judge who would be under serious consideration by a republican president, logically would have been appointed by Bush 43. It just makes sense for purposes of compatible philosophy and age range. Others of the liberal bent, nominated by Clinton and Obama, are ineligible on their face. Moreover, any Trump-appointed jurists naturally have very limited time on the bench to be elevated so soon. President Trump now also has to replace Kavanaugh as well with another conservative judge.

Hard to muster up a thank you to McCain, but have to be grateful to him for perhaps paving the way for a smoother confirmation for both Brett Kavanaugh and President Trump!!!

I would love to know why McCain hangs on to a seat he can’t fulfill. It defies logic for a terminally ill person to deny AZ a vote in the senate.

I think we should oppose anyone not unequivocally in favor of right to equal rights for all citizens - born or unborn.

We need to redefine guys like Kav as moderates.

Make them the new center.

Triangulate and confuse the enemy!

I don’t like him, either, but McCain voted to confirm all four current conservative justices on the Supreme Court. There’s still a statement on his Senate page supporting the nomination of Gorsuch.
