I never understood why they changed from paper straws
Imagine that paper straws. They were in abundance in the 60s, what comes around goes around.

They eliminated coffee a while ago..................
How really nice. Unisex bathrooms. Free coffee for whining blacks. Unemployment for Whites who follow the rules. Free flophouse for the indigent. And now no plastic straws.

I've used these. They work fine for me. Besides, it's a private business and can do whatever they want - I really don't care. If it succeeds it succeeds; if not, it doesn't.

What’s a Starbucks?
Single Use plastic is a real problem. Even though the biggest polluters are in Asia, that stuff gets carried around the world by currents. I don’t want it in on my beach.
Probably not too many drink coffee with a draw. But I often get their ice tea.
So, as a Starbucks customer, I guess some Freepers can throw me into a basket of deplorables.
That’s fine.
Use milkweed stems. They bio=degrade readily. And the residual juices will cure you of ever sucking starbucks again.
They probably discovered that their staws were getting used by the welcomed homeless. Until we start incinerating plastic, we will continue to find plastic washing up on our shores. Mostly the rich areas have recycling centers. All other garbage gets dumped into land fills or the recycled plastic gets shipped to ....wait for it....CHINA. It then gets dumped into land fills or rivers which feed into the ocean which comes back to the US shores. Incinerate is the best solution.
Oh yea, Starbucks is getting rid of the straws but the earth is laced with those freaking green plastic sticks!
