Gotcha.

Yes...half of the year (in TX) is sort of like CA weather :)

At least the Austin area isn’t as humid as the Houston area :-O

We spend a lot of time at a family lake place, near Austin....and the difference in humidity, from the Houston area, is noticeable.

Sorry, but struggling as I might I just can’t fit this
fourth generation California native into your scenario.
The voting records of my family have not contributed to
the deteriorating nature of California. I can also
assure you all that my friends and relatives who have
left Cali have not voted to increase liberal malaise in
their new states which is the reason they left California
in the first place.

I don’t know if Ms. Lewis was only repeating it anecdotally or not. But, she’s usually pretty good with her articles.

Arrest politicians that are running sanctuaries.
Arrest and mass deport illegal aliens.
Scrub voter rolls.
Certain activist types simply need to start dissapearing.
Anyone who complains after having left California state gets no sypathy from me, in fact, I think they should be forced to go back and help fix it.
How does leaving and going elsewhere and bringing your stinking politics elsewhere going to help.
When will people fight for anything?

I used to hear some relatives who lived in South Africa speak the same BS. You live in a bubble inside a shithole. A nice bubble.

I can empathize, my good FRiend, as a native and once-and-former citizen of the once-Golden state, I traveled to many "red" states (I hate that term), looking for a good retirement location.

Turned out that there are many, and had the luxury of several good choices.

I have been separated from Cali for over three years, and I love every minute.

It’s why foreign nationals are buying up so many of these properties. They’ll rent them out for big $$ or buy up half the block and start building civilian barracks/apartments for the lower wage workers.

No American in their right mind would buy there and actually live there.

I don’t have MUD taxes. We have our own water well(s).

Cal will not prohibit shower and laundry same day. They are limiting water use. It is not prohibition. In 77 I showered at a friends house on Downey in the Haight. Rinsed, turned off water, soaped myself and laundry, turn on water, rinsed turn off water. Plastic container in shower used to water plants from my shower water.

We did other things in the shower that may have saved water and used the on off method and sharing. My step-son still does that method since he was in the USMC.

The problem with Cal is when it comes to illegals, pensions, and trains to nowhere we have all the money we need; but water projects, and de-sal plants, not so much. Illegals services are more important than water and services to illegal residents to the tune of 21 bill a year.

What will happen when the celebrities and the illegals stay and all the productive people leave? After a while, even the rich will leave.

Yes, life is tougher for the middle class in California, just like the rest of the country. Please identify a state where the middle class has an easy life.

California provides many opportunities that are not available elsewhere.

***What is the incentive to stay when taxes are sky-high, regulations are ...***

The question is: Why do the people there keep voting these tyrants in? Instead they move elsewhere and bring their loony politics with them! STAY HOME and SUFFER! Not welcome! Unclean!

I never suggested it was easy for middle class America outside of CA. I'm saying it would be a hell of a lot easier in states with reasonable property prices, reasonable taxes, fees, reasonable business regulations, etc, etc etc.

Do you dispute this?

Cal will not prohibit shower and laundry same day. They are limiting water use.

If those two tasks are beyond the amount allowed if limiting water use, then what?

I mean, if a new Cali law banned all ammo, and the Governor then declared "we did not banned firearms, we are not infringing on your right to own a firearm" would be equally nonsensical.

If there is a law that restricts the amount of gallons of consumption a day, then you will not be able to in totality water the lawn, wash the car, wash the dog, fill the kiddie pool, take a shower, wash your clothes....etc. You will only be able to do a few of these things without incurring a fine or arrest.
