Ex-GOP majority leader: Republicans must protect Mueller [RINO Frist]
The Hill ^ | July 7, 2018 | John Bowden

Posted on 07/07/2018 1:43:23 PM PDT by jazusamo

Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) warned Republicans against continuing their "assault" against Robert Mueller, writing in an op-ed Friday that the GOP must let Mueller continue his investigation.

In an opinion piece for The Washington Post, the former Tennessee Republican urged Republicans to fight for the "rule of law," even if it meant going up against the Trump administration.

"I am also a Republican because I believe in the rule of law. Republicans must fight for that principle today — even if it means pushing back against a Republican administration," Frist wrote.

"It isn’t easy to tell a president of your own party that he is wrong. But the assault on Mueller’s investigation does not help the president or his party," he added. "[But] the president must remember that only Mueller’s exoneration can lift the cloud hanging over the White House."

Frist went on to argue that claims of "runaway legal authority," such as those made by former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort in an attempt to have the charges against him dismissed, do not hold up when compared to Mueller's record.

"I have worried over the years about runaway legal authority, and I’ve battled against activist judges. I don’t worry about Robert Mueller," he said.

"And his investigation is getting results: By any objective standard, he has moved swiftly, obtaining 23 indictments and five guilty pleas in just more than a year."

Trump has frequently characterized Mueller's investigation as a "witch hunt," and has accused the special counsel of going beyond the original scope of the investigation to pursue charges not related to alleged Russian election interference.

Republicans have frequently pointed to text messages sent by former members of Mueller's probe as evidence of pervasive anti-Trump bias that they say tainted the investigation from the start.

Why do these people feel so compelled to come out and tear down president Trump?
***********************************

It is all about protecting the Bush Plan for North Mexico.
They have put 30 years into this bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of laws and borders and invited 30 million people here against the will of the citizens.
They are not going to let US undo that.

Frist is one of the weakest of the weak-kneed, a pantywaist and a quisling. It is amazing that any resistance has been made against the hard core Left with the likes of Frist, Trent Lott, McConnell, Hastert, Boehner, and Ryan in positions of leadership.

The odds of having such a string of losers is too small to be happenstance. This has to be the work of big money corporate lobbyists who are all too eager to sell the country out if there are profits to be made by the paymasters.

I’m from TN and believe me Frist is a RINO asshole. That is why he is leaving congress. He knew he was never going to be reelected.

Remember it was set to return to Trent Lott, until he offered his birthday wishes to 100-year old outgoing Sen. Strom Thurmond. The left/media demanded his head for paying tribute to his 1948 Dixiecrat candidacy for President. The party establishment wanted a “non-controversial” person to become Majority Leader and went with Frist.

Frist retired 12 years ago. You’re thinking of his far more RINO successor, Lil Boob Corker.

I’m hoping Manafort can beat the charge, but if he can’t I hope Mueller looks ridiculous trying to tie it to Trump.

—As for the midterms, I know I’ll be a basket case when we vote, but imo we’ve got a really good chance of keeping the house and senate. The meltdowns will be epic if we can. lol :)

Frist was always a Bush puppet with more than a few medical business skeletons in his closet, as I recall.

It has two objectives...(1) prevent Trump from governing and just maybe get him out of office, AND (2) take the initiative to deflect all attention from the real criminals, the Obama/Holder/Clinton/Lynch/Comey/Strzok/McCabe/Brennan cabal.

“Tennessee has always been the only state with. A gop presence since Reconstruction

Not an impressive bunch frankly”

Yeah, and now, the “Resident Dwarf, Little Bobby Corker” is taking his marbles and going home, leaving that worthless turd Lamar Alexander to continue to shame the state.

“Though an honorable man, Frist was always a limp-wristed RINO.”

You realize that that is a contradiction in terms, because being “honorable” and a RINO at the same time is an impossibility!

“Maybe they were just never the party we thought they were?”

In truth, the GOP has been a fraud for the entirety of my life. Even Ronald Reagan didn’t show us what a pile of crap it was, and still is today. It took a real man, Donald J. Tump to pull back the curtain, and now the GOPE is as bad off as are the RATs when it comes to a message. The ONLY MESSAGE in the country today, comes from President Trump. All the rest of them are pining for the “good old days” when both Parties took turns f*cking the American Taxpayer.

Gee, the $hit hits just keep on coming. “The Helmet Hair” was from MS, so I guess we need to start moving our “gaze” from the Mid South to the Deep South, where they often switch Parties to stay in office, and are welcomed to do so.

Bill Frist Goes Liberal Citizens Council on Health Freedom ^ | 9-26-12 | twila brase Posted on ‎9‎/‎26‎/‎2012‎ ‎5‎:‎24‎:‎03‎ ‎PM by TurboZamboni Current GOP members of Congress are not impressed. A week ago, former U.S. Senator and former Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) told POLITICO, "I am supportive of exchanges and 'Obamacare' generally." In a commentary in The Week, he asserts, "As a doctor, I strongly believe that people without health insurance die sooner...State exchanges are the solution. They represent the federalist ideal of states as 'laboratories for democracy.'...I love the diversity and the innovation." Frist is talking the talk of the Left. Lack of insurance kills no one. And like many of his former colleagues, Frist must not have read the Obamacare law although it's been available for two years. All state-run Exchanges must follow this federal law and nearly 13,000 pages of federal regulations (so far). There's no democracy, no diversity, no independent state laboratory. And it certainly isn't "federalist," unless he defines that word as federal control. Wouldn't you like to know who's lining his pockets? It could be the single-payer advocate, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He, along with Obama's former budget director Peter Orzag, just became new trustees of the RWJF Board of Directors.
