I thought Trump would be a Northeastern Liberal and that all the great things he said were just his ‘negotiating stance.”
I only voted for him AGAINST Hillary!.
Boy, was I wrong! I will happily vote for him over and over again!

Right now, Trump is shaping up to be the most consequential and conservative president in my lifetime - and that includes Reagan. So far, so good, and I applaud the work he’s done so far - but I haven’t forgotten about the border wall. If he can just get that built, he belongs on Mt. Rushmore.

I guess - but Trump is bringing some Conservatives along to ideological places they would’t normally be.

Example - Solar Power.

If I understand correctly - Trump’s solar tariffs are designed to jump start the domestic manufacturing of Solar Panels. So we aren’t buying so much abroad.

That pretty much says - Trump is pro-solar. And, he is anticipating a boom in Solar - and want us to make the panels - not import them.

So - I don’t totally agree with the premise of this article.

President Trump has this higher power that he uses to expose the frauds on the left and right. He makes them drop their mask and show their nasty and vile self. The president has done us all a huge favor by exposing these people.

A very well reasoned post. We have much in common.

Never-Trumpers are liberals. They wanted another eGOP candidate. They wanted more milquetoast candidates that cave to liberal causes.

“He may have been a bit of a cad when it comes to being faithful”

Are you sure about that?

VDH, since President Trump was sworn in as our POTUS, has become an incredible spokesperson for President Trump.

I still don’t see my 2nd amendment being protected in any real way.

You do not consider Justice Gorsuch any “real” protection?

The alternative would have been destruction of the practical destruction of the Second Amendment.

Three wives. Not as taboo now as it used to be, but still..

I remember when it was scandalous when Ronald Reagan was the FIRST divorcee to become President. However, Democrats stay with their wives because they know their wives will let them stray.

So the next step is cultural and the weak link is the media.

Widely despised and dependent on cable subscriber fees for their existence, they are vulnerable.

Cable channels get half of their revenue from cable subscriber fees.

If people would use their spending power to put a hurt on them, they could open up the industry to more competition.

People could use their spending power to force the end of the basic bundle and make the cable companies offer a la carte programming.

I also said that if he did one single thing - give us a SCOTUS judge, his job would be done. He did that, and now we’re doing better than we could under another president.

But the national reciprocation is what I’m talking about. This was a campaign promise that hasn’t been fulfilled.

It would be simple to do - An EO can reaffirm a constitutionally protected right. It wouldn’t even be contended (by anyone serious. It would be by the leftist media but no constitutional lawyer could fight it - even Obama didn’t fight it)

I was thinking that he’s keeping it in his pocket for when he does something that we on the right don’t like. But that already came and went. He’s done things that have infuriated us before.

I simply don’t think gun rights are even on his list because he - like others in NYC - are “But..” patriots. He doesn’t believe that every citizen should be able to have a gun. Again, like other NYC residents believes that he is elite in many ways and that he should have these things, but there are people who shouldn’t. (Like Mets fans, for instance)

Ben Carson is a good guy. But he lost me - and I mean LOST ME when he said that people in rural areas have rights to arm and bear, but that should be limited in Urban areas. Ridiculous!

Rand Paul said that drones should be used to shoot someone as they step out of the door of the convenience store they just robbed. What ?!

I’ve been in the room with Trump before. He is not one of us. However, I will say that he is doing the best job of any recorded president in protecting us and our rights. He is not the “best of the worst” candidates. He was a real, honest pick and I would march into war to protect this man and his work for us.

When it comes to Presidents he is the best in the lineup. Simple.

I just want to know what happened to my national carry.

Democrats stay with their spouses because of the spousal testimonial privilege.

Maybe you should stick to the Religion Section.

I'm an Episcopalian, but all this seems only peripherally related to Episcopal dogma--maybe Hindu/Buddhist mythology--maybe physics--maybe Vedic history. Truth--or rather our attempts to see it through the murk of our limitations--defies classification.

Those who are interested in truth, as Aspasia I certainly was, avoid classification whenever possible, and seek truth wherever it might present itself.

I just want to know what happened to my national carry.

You provide an excellent example of why the right generally loses. "Everything right now or I'll take my ball and go home".

The left really is smarter than folks like you and most of the anti-abortion crowd - you all would rather have nothing than have a little now, a little bit more later, and more after that.

Incrementalism and the long game is what wins. Not that 'all or nothing' mentality that has lost us so much ground over the last century.
