Quit your whining.
Its not like Trump sets the courts agenda to ask them to rule on a particular issue.
It is unlikely that anything would come up during Trump's term to put this on their plate.
Even if they did overturn it, it would still be up to each state to rule on.
This is largely a Dem fundraising ploy.
Quinnipiac surveys on that issue are skewed by subjectively motivated methods. Allowing yourselves to be manipulated by an obscenely noisy 2% of the population is foolish. So is believing that a large portion of our nation supports such unhealthy and disgusting activities being shoved in the face of America.
At what age do you grant rights? Why do you get to decide? This country was founded on the basis that The Creator has given rights equally to all? You don’t believe in equal rights, you believe in rights, whenever someone decides.
This practice started the roll down the slippery slope and we are at the edge of atheistic dark ages, again. The belief that survival of the fittest means consumption of the weakest, innocent.
Those beliefs are one hundred percent opposite the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the historic struggle of the settlers and founders. The Creator granted rights equally to all.. there is no age in any founding documents.
Barbarism.
I’m somewhat in the same camp. I don’t like abortion but I accept women will get them whether they are legal or not. I’d rather they got them by qualified care-givers than some schmuck with a coat hanger in the back room with a bottle of vodka for sterility.
In a perfect world both the men and women (boys and girls) would take precautions so a pregnancy doesn’t happen.
I find it somewhat interesting religions frequently espouse it’s a sin to have an abortion. Sometimes I wonder if that’s for making the congregation bigger or for something else.
Why does a population have to increase faster than it decreases? Financial growth? Re-supply dead or wounded soldiers?
If it gets overturned, then it gets overturned. I don’t really care.
If you want something to be a Constituionally protected right, then amend the Constitution.
A case can be made that early-term abortion is more similar to withdrawal of life-support benefits from the mother. The fetus cannot survive without that life support.
Post-birth, there is no question about the baby needing life support which only the mother can provide, since a woman who does not want to raise the kid can put the kid up for adoption.
She does not make any sense.
Conservatives are not all one way or the other. There are many pro-life groups.
Does she want all of them to stop their pro-life efforts because of her political analysis?
Roe v. Wade is a bad court decision. What happens is not up to “conservatives” as a group, but what happens when more originalist and textualists justices go to the Supreme Court.
It is stupid to play the Progressive game of making the Court a super-legislature.
We need to not stop talking about these issues.
At the time Roe v. Wade was decided, the abortion rate quickly reached 1.6 million babies killed per year. Today, it is down to less that 900 thousand. Still too many, but we didn’t get here by shutting up and saying, “Well, it’s the law, so just ignore it.” We got here by continually pointing out the scientific facts of abortion—that it is not just another form of birth control, but a brutal snuffing out of a human life for utterly trivial “reasons.”
Just as abortion on demand was imposed on us by activist judges, so gay “marriage” was imposed through judicial fiat. When any “law” is imposed by a totalitarian judge, it is the deliberate crushing of the will of the people. Rule by elitist whim was exactly what we were trying to avoid with our three parts of government, yet we’ve had that for decades.
Keep up the fight. Giving it up just hastens our descent into dictatorship, which we are barely avoiding as it is.
“Government has a role to play but regulating social issues is where it fails miserably”.
How is murdering babies a social issue? Please explain.
Let’s just put a good orginalist (like Scalia’s former clerk Amy Barrett) on the court and let things take care of themselves.
Tomi Lahren: Pushing to Overturn Roe v. Wade Would Be a ‘Big Mistake’
This is a stupid argument. The supreme Court will not arbitrarily select ANY subject to rule on. It has to be brought before them.
Yes. The media has so shifted the view to the left that nothing can change.
Try the 14th Amendment.
The Court ruled 72, not by five unelected goons in black robes
Roberts won’t take abortion cases, so this may be a lot to do about very little.
Many Americans are against abortion as contraception.
There will never be an outright ban, but it may be constricted.
It is a human life! And that’s why they can sell their body parts and buy a Lamborghini.
The author states that she is proAbortion.
“We lose when we mess with social issues”
Exact whom does she mean by “We”?
I’d prefer the actual politicians not to mention it in their campaigns..Just let the overturn happen on its own, eventually once we get this judge and hopefully another one, somebody will bring a case to SCOTUS and it will be overturned. Likely not long from now. But lets not push it publicly, still need the wobbly suburban women to keep voting with us for now.
Four justices are needed for taking a case. It doesnt depend on Roberts alone. Hasnt Roberts been on the pro-life side up till now?
Come to think of it, Kavanaugh did also decide against forcing employers and organizations through Obamacare to pay for abortion drugs for employees. He also argued in favor of pro-life speech.
But he hasn’t said anything in favor of overturning Roe v. Wade. As for government funding for abortions and efforts to violate the First Amendment by gagging pro-life groups, there’s nothing conservative about those efforts.
