What a deal Ms May has offered her people. Her nogotiation style seems to rival that of John Kerry: telegraph your desperation to have a deal then give unreasonable concessions for no return.

A deal, it seems, designed to please nobody. People who want out will say "we're technically out but everything good about being out was given away". And those who were against Brexit will say "well there you have it, we are still out and get the burdens of being in the EU without the benefits."

The end goal, one presumes, is to set it up so they can say down the road that rejoining is the best option because of that second line of thinking.
