A federal judge has ordered China's largest wind-turbine firm, Sinovel, to pay $59 million for stealing trade secrets from a Massachusetts-based technology company. Only 59 million, no royalties on products they keep selling with the stolen software, no stop using the stolen code.

They are too big to fail, but not too big to get hurt. They bet on the wrong horses last year.

They also made a settlement that includes licensing of the product.

I’ll say it again, the Chinese economy has been based entirely on fraud and theft of intellectual property for thousands of years. Whatever it took to make the quota assigned to you by your prefecture’s warlord, whether it was stealing somebody else’s product and calling it your own, or adding Y amount of filler to your X amount of product so you could say that you’ve produced X+Y amount of product, that’s what you did. It’s always their first inclination, because it’s more or less in their genes now.

You bet. They're part of the problem and are afraid they might personally lose a few bucks. Too bad.

The era of, "Profits regardless of consequences" is coming to an end.

A more succinct approach would be to ask what intellectual property/technology the Chinese haven't ripped off.

There are a (lot) of “republicans” who are 100% sold out to China.

100%.

Both parties have been selling us out, for the last generation and a half.

Yep - we do have our batch of "those who make one scratch one's head" types here...most are more concerned with personal inconveniences than making things right - no different than the "Gimme gimme gimme that free stuff" Dems they claim to be different than.
