(CNN)Prosecutors for special counsel Robert Mueller said in a court filing Friday that they intend to present evidence at the trial of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort that a banking executive allegedly helped Manafort obtain loans of more than $6 million while the banker sought a role in the Trump campaign.
Manafort faces trial on bank fraud charges in the Eastern District of Virginia beginning July 25. Until now, there had been no indication that his role in the Trump campaign would become part of the trial, and he had asked the judge to keep details about his ties to President Donald Trump out of the trial. Prosecutors say any alleged collusion with the Russian government won't come up at the trial. "The government intends to present evidence that although various Lender D employees identified serious issues with the defendant's loan application, the senior executive at Lender D interceded in the process and approved the loan," according to the filing.

Put an innocent man in solitary confinement long enough and you can get him to say anything. Whether or not Manafort said what this article alleges, the coup leaders have broadcast a big message to those willing to join Trump: abandon hope all ye who enter here.
I know the President can’t bring this seditious behavior to an end, but it’s still his responsibilty to close down the coup. Not anyone but him as the Executive Branch boss. He can face calls for Impeachment and dump Mueller or hope Congress gets some fresh fighters after November.

I've ridden my road bike on Lamington Rd in Bedminster, NJ, which passes the front entrance to Trump's golf course there. That's a closer connection to Donald Trump than many of the paths Mueller's investigation has taken.

Interesting that Mueller felt the need to get this out. More and more people who are informed on this are understanding that Manafort’s troubles stem from his business with the Podestas, nothing to do with Trump except for his brief campaign association painting a target on his back.
The Podestas still walk free.
