In a literal sense Manafort is being tortured for a confession, false or otherwise, and anyone who doesn't think 23 hours a day in an 8x10 cell is torture is welcome to try it for a few months and get back to me. He has also been repeatedly threatened that he'll spend the rest of his life in there. All of this without a trial.

For those curious, Trump can't commute a sentence that the accused hasn't received, and a pardon before the trial, artfully delayed by Mueller's team, is an instant charge of Obstruction of Justice against Trump. Those stories are already written and ready to be filed. The anti-Trump media think this is funny.

It's a good example of just exactly what treatment any of us is likely to receive at the hands of our own government, with our political enemies cheering them on. Anyone who still can complain that politics is no longer "civil" probably hasn't been paying attention.

Torture. And we’re trying to kill/imprison Assange, too.

Sick.

WHY are we citizens letting mueller do all he’s done for all this time.. paying his lawyers, letting him run amuck... and trying to make this man squeal on the President... sessions and congress are doing nothing ..

cut off funds, Trump could stop it... but for his own reasons, he has let them keep draining from our country...
I voted for Trump’s swift solutions and actions .. so why is he dragging on this? Gowdy said to hurry up and shut this down,.. so then mueller adds on and digs deeper into nothingness.

All the while doing this to Manafort....
Don’t tell me there is nothing can be done with mueller. Right and wrong is not hard to find in all this mess!!! I hate it when wrongs win the stratedgy and right lets it happen.

We have too many rules and laws. We all know that anyone can be convicted of a felony if the government puts in enough resources.

Should we blame over-zealous prosecutors, yes. But they are really only the logical consequence of giving people too much power. Yes, juries can over-rule prosecution via nulification on the basis of bad law and lack of due process.

The solution is really to downsize the Federal government and eliminate and defang these agencies. Remember, much of the law is administrative law which creates, executes, and adjudicates the rules without effective oversight.

Mueller still has to go through the court system. But, he has no effective constraints on his budget and scope of investigation. He is acting like an independent Federal agency without oversight.
