What can they do? David Faris has many suggestions, but they boil down to an attitude: No more Mr. Nice Donkey.
Faris argues Democrats have been too passive and accepting of the fundamental unfairness of the American political system. He points to the undemocratic nature of the United States Senate, where one vote in a small state means so much more than one vote in a highly populous one. Or the fact that, in two recent elections—2000 and 2016—a Republican was elected president even though his Democratic opponent won a majority of the vote.
Democrats occasionally grouse about this decidedly tilted playing field, but they seldom express outrage—and when they assumed power in 2008, they did little to address the problem. Faris argues they cannot make that mistake again.

They saw Reagan as a temporary stumbling block, and Bubba as a necessary evil to get control back in the Party's hands. But Gore was supposed to win. You finally be the President that put into place everything the progressive conspiracy had been working towards since the sixties. The final culmination of the The long march through the institutions .
But after eight years of Dubya, they were ready to try again. Hillary was desperate to be the President who finally put in place the progressive endgame, but it turned out to be Obama well for the chance.
And it turned out to be a disaster. Turns out that implementing the progressive agenda is enormously unpopular. Expert that the progressives simply can't admit that to themselves. They are, after all, the vanguards of history.
So their response is to push even harder for programs that the majority fervently does not want, and to blame their failure on a vast conspiracy.
They are chasing a dream that simply can't happen, and they're getting tired of waiting.

The timid party are the Republicans! Just consider how the Republicans timidly accepted Justice Ginsberg when she was nominated for the Supreme Court.
Then consider how the Republicans went limp when Bork was viciously and falsely attacked. And Justice Clarence Thomas!
Look how the Dems are gearing up to attack (fill in the blank) the next Supreme Court nominee by President Donald Trump.
They rigged the DemocRAT nomination process.
Cheated in the debates w Trump by getting questions in advance.
Used false pretenses to spy on the Trump campaign before the election.
Actively trying to overthrow a duly elected President with criminal investigations based on fake dossiers purchased by the DemocRAT party.
Bern working to illegally alter the demographics of the U.S. because real Americans won’t vote for them.

They stole the nomination from Bernie who was winning state after state. The whole Super Delegate thing had it rigged before the first vote was cast!
They outdid Nixon (who hired outsiders / misfits) by getting secret warrants from a secret court to use the power of our own government to spy on political opponents.
We in the middle of a coup attempt to take Trump out - one that’s lasted since the election and has continued well into his administration.
