The thing is that ENGLAND considered them ENGLISH...

no matter how we look at the situation 250 years later...

at the signing of the Declaration of Independence, ALL 56 signers were ENGLISH...born ENGLISH with ENGLISH parents ... NBC...no one immigrant...

My Huguenots from France living in New Rochelle, NY, were given “letters of Denization” in 1695 making them just as English...equivalent to my Naturalization paper today which attests to my American citizenship....

we cant look at history with 2018 eyes...what was going on back then ??? What was important to them ??? What did it mean ???

Any one of those supposed 8 would have been affronted if anyone suggested they were not as English as the others...

and the other 48 would have suggested a little sword play to defend the insult to their friends...

Ben Franklin would have arranged some lightning bolts...

Nana that is something we can argue all day, Ireland, Scotland and Wales did NOT as a whole want to be English they were FORCED to be by a superior armed force. Aristocrats played both sides. Same as DEM/GOP do.
