I think he should have put her in there about 20 years ago. She probably had Alzheimer’s, and often there’s an anger and paranoia problem that goes with that. Not always, but frequently enough.

Prayers for the family because it must be horrible for them.

Could be.

Could also be a drug she is on or a drug interaction.

Geriatric medicine is very complicated and individually complicated.

With geriatric patients a drug they have been on for years could suddenly cause a psychotic break or a new drug could interact with a drug they are already on to cause a psychotic break.

Geriatric patients usual have a number of doctors. I is always a good idea that they have one doctor that oversees their care that is keeping track of all of the drugs they are on to ensure that possible unpleasant drug interactions are avoided.
