NEW YORK — A woman is climbing the Statue of Liberty, police said.
PIX11 reports park police and the NYPD are both on the scene. Two officers used a ladder to climb to the base of the statue and are talking to the woman. She is perched against the statue’s robes. Police have been talking with the woman.
She’s taken off her shirt several times and shown a message on it off, but the message written on her shirt is not clear on video from the scene.

I agree, for the most part. I was talking about the possible mind-set of the authorities: protecting the visitors on the ground from the impact if she jumps. Otherwise, my personal attitude is: "Try to discourage her from jumping out of common decency and to avoid the trauma and mess of a cleanup, but if she jumps, she jumps."

No official report has mentioned exactly what this nitwit was “protesting.” So she’s busy stopping thousands of Americans and foreign visitors, who have probably stood on line for hours, from going out to greet Lady Liberty because she wants to make some idiotic self-obsessed Dem gesture.
