New Jersey governor Phil Murphy is expected to sign a bill that would dedicate $5 million in government funding to local media projects.
The so-called Civic Info Bill was passed by the state legislature in June and will create the Civic Information Consortium, a nonprofit organization that gives grants to promote media in underserved communities, low-income communities and communities of color.
Applicants apply for grants by proposing a collaboration between one of five public universities and a community organization, a media outlet, or a member of the states technology sector. The proposal must also offer a clear benefit to communities.
One goal of proposed grants should be to better meet the information needs of low-income communities and racial and ethnic communities that have been underserved by the media.

What "community" in New Jersey has been "underserved" by the media???
This is essentially $5 million for a propaganda project.
New Jersey conservatives better wake up !!! This is YOUR money being wasted. Stop rolling over and letting these reprobate communists in your (our) State pull this crap!

But not in Cursive.
Ministry of Truth. To us, 1984 was a warning. To the left, it is an instruction manual.
The description of it is the very definition of descrimination.
My preference would be to put a tax on the media. Call it a luxury tax. Tell them that someone needs to pay the cost of the wasteful government spending. It shouldnt be the poor. The media is a luxury product. Poor people dont have time to spend surfing the net or watching movies. Only the rich can afford that. They should pick up the cost of those government programs.
I’m thinking they have a anti-Trump 2020 project in the plans.
Pravda of NJ. Propaganda arm of the NJ Democrat party. We are getting closer and closer for the US to split up into regional countries. So glad I live in he South.
Taxpayer-funded Democrat Party election propaganda.
They have to replace all of that union money the Supremes just took away from them.

This is nothing but a government sponsored propaganda ministry paid for with taxpayer dollars. Far worse than public television.
This is aimed at retention and propagandizing the left’s minority constituency.
Wonder if there is a constitutional case here?
I thought I was safely in the south, but people fleeing the mess they made of the northeast are making a mess of Virginia.
No major tv station broadcasts from NJ since WOR stopped doing news . Just NYC And Philadelphia.
So, govt sponsored minority propaganda.
Like they dont get enough already.
Spending hard earned tax payer money on give always to people and communities that don’t give a thing back, just take, take, take. Now the media will be able to inform these communities about offers and programs so they can take some more. New Jersey rats together again
The BBC - Bolshie Broadcasting Network.
FCC should pull the broadcast license of ANY media PAID by ANY branch of the government.
That’s PRAVDA.
The main purpose of the First Amendment and “freedom of the press” is to protect the people from the government. But, any media benefiting from $5 million from the government...well, guess who they’re going to protect FIRST.
Sounds like a state funded program to promote left wing fake news propaganda at the local level.
This says to me NJ is afraid the poor and non-white are starting to wake up and leaving the plantation.
Five million dollars of indoctrination it is.
