CNN host Chris Cuomo wrapped up the first hour of Prime Time by emphatically ranting about President Trump not ordering American flags be flown at half-staff to honor the five journalists killed during the Capital Gazette shooting. According to his speculation, it was because of Trumps insensitivity to the dead and his hatred for the press.
It's been four days since the most recent mass shooting that robbed this world of five lives, shattered families, and added another layer of shame on all lawmakers for not doing something to stop the damn shootings, Cuomo began the segment. So why did this happen? Is there a protocol that would make it weird to respect the dead journalists?
Cuomo then proceeded to rattle off other instances where Trump had ordered flags lowered such as the Las Vegas and Parkland shootings. To make the point about the number of victims not being an issue, he cited the lowering of flags for former First Lady Barbara Bush and Reverend Billy Graham.
So, why would the mayor of Annapolis say he was turned down with such a no-brainer request, he rhetorically asked himself. Now, I'm afraid I know the answer and it's because President Trump doesn't like the media.

Cuomo is one of many snowflakes who grew spoiled by the previous occupant of the WH, and his habit of lowering flags for the likes of Whitney Houston, who never risked a finger for her country and died an addict.
If Trump had ordered flags flown at half mast, the @ssh*les in the fake news media would have raged about what a hypocrite Trump is, lowering flags is an empty gesture, blah, blah BLAHHHH!!!
Fredo Cuomo looking for relevance on CNN, the fake news network that nobody watches.
It is a peeve of mine for many, many, years now.
I despise the lowering of flags to half-staff for every damn thing that happens.
I understand it for Pearl Harbor. I understand it for 9/11.
I can even understand it for the death of anyone who has served as President, even if I disagree with that President fundamentally on everything.
But I hate lowering it for anyone who has died an untimely or violent death, as much as I may like/dislike a person or group, or even if I know anything at all about it.
To me, it fosters a sense of national victimhood, which I utterly detest.
Unfortunately not. Its a touchy feely requirement rather than a show of respect for exceptional people.
Yes. See my post at #63 above...
Maybe the flag should be lowered for dead distinguished paedophiles and notable Communists.
The Constitution says,No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States. . . but journalists refer to themselves as the Fourth Estate, and insinuate that the First Amendment confers a title of nobility on them.It doesnt - but you can understand why they think that nobility such as themselves should be deferred to by lowering the flag.
I know.. That Idiot Obama lowering our flag for her really ticked me off!
Yes, I know that. I was commenting in general about the idea that flags are to be lowered anytime there is some tragedy.
Trump should fly our flag at half staff until Roe v. Wade is overturned.
Abortion, the leftist sacrament, butchers 125,000 babies every day world wide.
“I believe Maryland can still choose to do that with its own banner.”
We (Maryland) had an idiot governor a while back who had the state flag flown at half mast every time someone was shot to death. Baltimordor made sure that happened a lot.
My Father, a WWII Veteran died in 2016.
Obama did not lower the Flag.
Who do I call?
