I guess you can blame my classical education, because that’s not art in the same way science fiction is not “literature.”
I don’t know enough about the science fiction genre to say, but I think I might disagree with you that none of it is ‘literature’.
On the other hand, simply possessing talent at techniques of drawing or painting don’t make one an ‘artist’.
