Ocasio-Cortez shreds conservative TV host for sharing picture of her childhood home

New York Democratic congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tore into a conservative TV host who tweeted a picture of her childhood home in an attempt to discredit her.

John Cardillo, a host of Newmax's "America Talks Live," shared a picture of Ocasio-Cortez’s childhood home in Yorktown Heights, falsely claiming she lived there until she went to attend Brown University.

“This is the Yorktown Heights (very nice area) home @Ocasio2018 grew up in before going off to Ivy League Brown University,” Cardillo tweeted. “A far cry from the Bronx hood upbringing she’s selling.”

Ocasio-Cortez lived in the Bronx's Parkchester apartments before moving to Yorktown Heights at age 5 to attend a better public school then what was available in the Bronx at that time, according to her campaign website. She later attended Boston University.

The self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist is running as a Democrat in New York’s 14th congressional district, which encompasses the Bronx and Queens after defeating incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley (D) in a stunning primary earlier this month.

Ocasio-Cortez fired back at Cardillo Sunday afternoon, saying she did not attend Brown University or any other Ivy League school.

“I went to BU (Boston University),” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Try Google.”

“My mom scrubbed toilets so I could live here and I grew up seeing how the zip code one is born in determine much of their opportunity,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote, noting that she grew up partially in a working-class neighborhood.

Yes, you’re right. Whenever we go upstate, through the Bronx, the high buildings of Parkchester stand out. It’s well-maintained. I haven’t been there in a couple of years in case somebody tells me otherwise!

Unless you're a Democrat. Then it's a resume requirement. From fake Indians like Elizabeth Warren to fake champions of Woman like Bill Clinton & Ted Kennedy... the list is to long to even attempt.

At least Ocasio-Cortez’s reaction here shows her to be a fraud.

Not enough to diminish her appeal. She's here to stay. GOP needs to figure out new ways to step up their game. And need young, fresh candidates too instead of all the establishment RINOS we have instead.

I never understood how politicians - R & D - slam their parents as low-income, badly-educated folks working at “pathetic” jobs. If I did that to my parents, they would have made mincemeat out of me.

in today’s Democrat party you have to be down with the struggle ... to be middle class (or, God FORBID, rich!) is anathema.

Damn! I didn’t realize that being born in ‘da Broncks’ makes me an automatic hood rat.

Actually, the ONLY reason I was born in The Bronx was that I wanted to be close to my mother.

So for all these years I missed out on having a crutch.

That was just one of the 19 or so PERMANENT addresses I had for my first BI in 1956 @ 17 when I joined the Navy.

Apartment living isn’t very common in places where there’s lots of space. In the 1990’s, my parents lived in Crystal City (just outside Washington, DC) in Buchanan House, a high-rise apartment building. They were in their late 50s, and it was the first time either of them had lived in an apartment.

Dad was from a farm in Missouri, and Mom was born in a row house in Philadelphia. They’d lived in Navy housing cottages and townhouses, rental houses ... I even vaguely remember a Quonset hut in the late 60s ... and Dad lived in barracks and on ships, but they’d never rented an apartment until then.

>They’ve been trying their “blue wave” narrative since 2016. This is desperation
Meanwhile, I watched the pre-rally show for Trump’s ND rally last week.
I saw people lined up in 94 degree heat, in line for 12 hours, just to catch a glimpse of Trump. They were chanting “red wave”, wearing Trump/Pence 2020 shirts, and smiling and laughing. FOR 12 HOURS, in the heat.
That’s enthusiasm. The left has anger, but they live for anger and angst. The enthusiasm is on the right.

She won on a fluke and because the turnout was nothing. If Crowley had been beating the bushes and really campaigning he would have won re-election. Complacency got him, he did not take her very seriously, but more important his base did not show up.

She may be a single term candidate. When 2020 comes up there will be a better financed candidate to run against her.

Wait!! You mean your dear folks didn’t move you to a better neighborhood to get you in to a “better school”?

Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that, but this little commie just needs to present the facts as they are!!

The Presidential campaign of William Henry Harrison. His opponent stated Henry was a hick who grew up in a log cabin, and was not smart enough to be President. Actual fact, Candidate Harrison came from a well to do family and was well educated. Also Mr. Harrison led the troops into battle. Harrison placed a log cabin on to a flat bed wagon and went around proudly proclaiming that he indeed did grow up in a log cabin. He was just like all those other people who grew up in log cabins. And even though He never lived in a log cabin, he got elected President of the USA. The ivory tower elite gets fewer votes and the educated peasant gets more votes. That is how the lower income groups chose to vote.

Appeal to whom? Take note of the low turnout in her district. There aren’t clones of Ocasio-Cortez materializing all over the place in significant voter districts that are not overrun with hard lefties. This is no case of “here to stay”.

One thing I have noticed about the HILL, they publish anything, right or left, the far right and the far left, which lead one to believe The Hill has not taken sides, as far as I can tell.

Now, whether what they publish is always true is debatable.
For instance, they publish Jon Solomon and then some far leftie.

Even if she won as a fluke and did it again 2020, I doubt this smarmy bitch would get past the smell test of most sane voters.

This idiot is ALL the left has to or CLOSE TO the so-called BS “blue wave” from the toilet they keep harping about...
