New York Democratic congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tore into a conservative TV host who tweeted a picture of her childhood home in an attempt to discredit her.
John Cardillo, a host of Newmax's "America Talks Live," shared a picture of Ocasio-Cortezs childhood home in Yorktown Heights, falsely claiming she lived there until she went to attend Brown University.
This is the Yorktown Heights (very nice area) home @Ocasio2018 grew up in before going off to Ivy League Brown University, Cardillo tweeted. A far cry from the Bronx hood upbringing shes selling.
Ocasio-Cortez lived in the Bronx's Parkchester apartments before moving to Yorktown Heights at age 5 to attend a better public school then what was available in the Bronx at that time, according to her campaign website. She later attended Boston University.
The self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist is running as a Democrat in New Yorks 14th congressional district, which encompasses the Bronx and Queens after defeating incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley (D) in a stunning primary earlier this month.
Ocasio-Cortez fired back at Cardillo Sunday afternoon, saying she did not attend Brown University or any other Ivy League school.
I went to BU (Boston University), Ocasio-Cortez said. Try Google.
My mom scrubbed toilets so I could live here and I grew up seeing how the zip code one is born in determine much of their opportunity, Ocasio-Cortez wrote, noting that she grew up partially in a working-class neighborhood.

Attacking Obama’s nebulous platform didn’t work either. Of course, the media was not vetting him. One cannot say that Trump was not vetted.
The conspiracy theory false flags w.r.t. Obama were no help either.
At least Ocasio-Cortez’s reaction here shows her to be a fraud.
Yes, I missed that ... as if it makes a difference. Although I think Brown is a little crazier.
Parkchester is NOT a project. I still have a friend (my maid of honor) living in Parkchester.
“Will sweep”?
They’ve been trying their “blue wave” narrative since 2016. This is desperation.
Standard The Hill baiting.
>This bitch is all we are going to hear about for the next 10 year
Why don’t some of the media point out, that she got a grand total of 15k votes. In the deepest of liberal areas. Her opponent got 11k.
Maybe it’s something big there, since all politics are local. But 15 votes, isn’t some sign of anything big, or earth-shaking. It’s literally a “who cares”, other than in that hood.
I’m more interested in where she lived right before she decided to run...
Anyone know where that is/was?
Just curious.
“Simple facts such as, this is where she lived?????”
Come to think of it, I’ve never seen photos of the boyhood homes of Josef Stalin or Chairman Mao either...maybe all those Communist leaders had something to hide? /s;)
What?
Telling a ton of lies is not a good way to start your Political Career
And if she owns more than one residence, is she cheating on her STAR exemption....
Shred? Baaah, that’s nothing.
Any apartment building can be cast as a “project,” if there’s political advantage to be gained. Out in the rich ‘burbs, there’s an assumption that all apartments are slums.
Ain’t the South Bronx, sweetie! I am perplexed at how she fails to honor her father’s ability to get an education, to become an architect, to get a home in Yorktown Heights, and to send his daughter to Boston University (not really any cheaper than Brown). She should encourage more in the South Bronx to emulate her father instead of sitting back and letting the government (i.e., taxpayers) take care of them. THAT would make a remarkable campaign and a worthy candidate.
Probably did not have the grades for Brown University!
Hiya there, sweety!
Welcome to politics. You dont get to choose what is said and shared about you and you dont get editorial clearance either. You just became an app purpose public figure as well, so its damn near impossible to go after anyone in court. But you didnt bargain for that, did ya??
Welcome to the NFL, sweety.
Shreds????
Via a social media reply?? Or, was this little
Mommies commie on his show, live??
Also...she admits vouchers are an EXCELLENT idea.
Thanks, Commie Rep!!
intelligence is not in her vocabulary
My GF was accepted at Brown as a 10th school, just in case because she always likes it when multiple options are open. She visited the campus eventually and it looked like any university...except for the fake air of snobbiness and superiority.
