The media IS the democrats.
They exist not to present the news, but to serve the democrats.

But I think the claws are going to come out for her, quick. Right now Kamala Harris gets a lot of air time. Pelosi, Waters, Feinstein, as well. Hags, every one of them. They’re going to put this woman up, everywhere. Young, good looking, articulate. They’re going to try and use her to woo all the youngsters out there that want everything for free. What happens when Harris, Pelosi, Waters, Feinstein aren’t getting interviewed anymore and this woman is on every station? The cat fight will not be too far away. These people have egos as large as one can be. They will not go away easily.

“I came up with the term Mediacracy, but then I learned someone else had the same idea a few years earlier.”

I believe that person was me with the term, “Mediacrat.” IIRC, that term was added to the FR Lexicon.

You folks are under-estimating Ocasio-Cortez.

Not really. She is a light weight.

She will win this election, but will get pushed aside by one of the old guard in 2020. There is too much government money to be stolen to let a young, inexperienced air-head stay there for too long.

She graduated from Boston University, but could only land a job as a bartender/waitress. Companies are tripping over themselves to fill diversity slots...and she couldn't land one. That says a lot!

P.S. - She looks like Huma Weiner, without the long face.

Look, when the "face" of the Democratic Party is Maxine Waters and all those amoral, indulgent, parochial and sanctimonious members of the Hollywood Left, no wonder why the Democratic Party is in trouble.

This pinko is 28 years old and the rats are touting her for the Presidency?

If I recall correctly, you have to be 35 years or older to run for President. That means for her it will be a minimum of 7 years. Trump has 6 more, than either Pence or Haley in 2024, when she will be 34 years old.

So she will not be eligible for the Presidency until 2028 or Pence’s(or Haley’s) second term.

Possibly. She may turn out to be a bigger crackpot than I think she is.

As I understand it, the “rock star” is running in the sort of district that would elect a Maxine Waters - repeatedly.

Odd how that little detail is 'forgotten' by the MSM..

Exactly. The MSM IS the opposition party, and the dems are just the political wing. The financial wing is Steyer, Soros, OFA (Obama, valjar), unions...the enforcers are antifa, occupy, blm...

The term Mediacracy was first coined by Kevin Phillips in 1974, as part of the title of his book, Mediacracy: American Parties and Politics in the Communications Age.

That was at least 20 years before I thought of it.

Prescient.

The Rock Star won because of the demographics of the district. Those are the demographics the Dems are trying for in every district. No amount of “Democrats are the real racists” and “communists are the real fascists” is going to change that plan. They don’t care, they just want free stuff.

Too many here think this is the same country that elected Reagan in the 80s. It's not.

Very true, and it didn’t happen organically. The meme that every American should go to college, where indoctrination facilitators (professors) go about remolding the personalities parents took a lifetime developing, that’s been the left’s fertile ground for growth. As long as people attend college, it is immaterial what their major, indoctrination is the objective.

Agreed. She is a Marxist. But she will walk that back. Not her plan, but her rhetoric. She is highly attractive. She is the next Obama. She will win one day and all hell will break loose.

Up to us to find an equally attractive candidate. We have time. Her time is coming. Not talking now, but 2024 or 2028.

I said the same damn thing to friends about Obama’s. And they just laughed in my face. The other side vote emotion and physical attraction.

Too many here think this is the same country that elected Reagan in the 80s. It's not.

True that. But in 1980, Carter + Anderson received 47.6% of the vote together, in 1992 Clinton # 42 received 43.0%, in 1996 Clinton # 42 received 49.2% and in 2016 Clinton # Never received 48.2%.

In 2012 Obama received 51.1%. In 2008, he received 52.9%, with two unpopular wars and the economy in meltdown. Whatever you say about Obama he is a very good politician -- ie. except for occasional lapses, his inner Communist doesn't break through. That's why he was almost always speaking from a TelePrompter.

The future certainly doesn't look bright for old white guys in minority-majority districts.

But the minority advantage in a presidential election is maybe a few points (5) -- with an excellent candidate, and with with all the winds blowing in the Democrat direction. Maxine Waters, who is not an excellent candidate, would probably lose all 57 states except for California, New York, and New Jersey.

(Fortunately, for general elections, the Republicans have a bench full of candidates who are not old white guys.)

The 'blue wave' turned out to be more of a ripple.
