Mexican-Americans have eyes set on Mexico’s largest election in history

PHOENIX – Mexican-Americans in the U.S. say the presidential election in Mexico could have a major impact on illegal immigration.

Carmen Iveth Perez Noyola, a U.S.-Mexico dual citizen who has already mailed in her ballot in the race, believes the new president could improve conditions so much in Mexico that the number of people leaving the country could decrease.

“A lot of people, if they had better opportunities back in Mexico, we would not be coming here,” Noyola said. “A lot of us did come here because of need. So, if we had our rights respected back in Mexico, if we had security, jobs, we wouldn’t have to come and risk our lives.”

The largest election in Mexico’s history will be taking place on Sunday and voters eligible to cast their ballots in the U.S. and abroad are paying close attention. It’s an election during a time when illegal immigration has become a hot and controversial topic.

“It’s important not only for our families back in Mexico but also here—the United States and Mexico, we’re neighbors,” Noyola said. “Whatever happens to one or the other, affects Mexico and the U.S.”

In total, there are over 181,256 Mexicans living abroad that have both registered and activated their voter ID cards allowing them to be able to vote in this election. Along with a new president, there are 128 senate seats, 500 deputy seats, eight governor seats, 1,596 municipal council seats, and the mayor of Mexico City office up for election. Voters abroad can only vote for president.

What it comes down to is this: The United States of America is getting screwed because Mexico is a country run by miscreants.

Dual citizenships in the us are a joke. Every immigrant asserts them now even Peter Jennings. None revoke their old citizenships

“believes the new president could improve conditions so much in Mexico that the number of people leaving the country could decrease.”

Talk about delusional. The guy is a communist who has threatened to flood the USA with illegals.

The new Marxist Mexican president is going to do for the Wall what Obama did for gun sales. And he’ll turn Mexico into a combination of Cuba and Argentina.

The Fox reporter doesn't seem to understand that there is a difference between "Mexican Americans" and Mexican citizens living in the US. US citizens of Mexican decent, AKA Mexican Americans cannot vote in Mexican elections. The government of Mexico is very sensitive about things like that. Unlike some countries I could mention, Mexico guards it's national sovereignty and borders.

Our education system has failed utterly

So the threat of potential deportation would actually cause some of the illegals to not break the law here?

You mean they won’t let Americans vote in their elections like we let Mexicans vote in ours?

Appears they allow those from further south
to come on in and cross to the USA border.

combination of Cuba and Argentina.

That optimism is not shared by 40% of Mexicans who fear Hugo Chavez-Obrador will turn Mexico into a combination of Venezuela and Venezuela.

That 40% are the small business owners, the devout Catholics. Where will they go?

You know what’s hypocritical is that the white (Spain descent) Mexicans are committing a form of economic cleansing. The Mestizos are coming here in the U.S. in droves. But for all the talk about “white privilege,” it’s completely ignored when pertained to Mexico.
