I hope they delay the vote until after the midterms. The House and Senate will then both be solid ‘Pubbie. Piece of cake. The DemonRats are between a rock and a hard place. Ha-ha-ha!!!

Have the confirmation vote BEFORE the elections, so that we can expose Manchin, Heitkamp, Tester, McCaskill, Nelson, and other Dem Senators trying to get re-elected in red states. Make those Senators choose between their “red” homestate voters versus the Dem activist Leftists and Chuck Schumer. Expose them and make them squirm. If they vote against confirmation, then we will get even more new conservative Senators.

Why bother? The next Senate can confirm President Trump's next two nominees. It's not like they'll be left with nothing to do.

That is an incredibly bad idea. If dems take over the senate in November, Trump will have to compromise on the nominee.

No. There is only downside to waiting. There is no downside to starting the process immediately with the goal of getting it done before the election. Consider:

- New nominee is confirmed. Done.

- New nominee is not confirmed. It would be true then that the Dems pulled some illegitimate stunts and lies and delays, that some of the usual Rinos went rogue again, etc. Voters are enraged, possibly resulting in better Republican turnout in the elections. It might also be true that Democrats are now feeling their oats, possibly resulting in better Democrat turnout as well, but what follows from that is just a guess.

As others have mentioned, a very real risk is that the Dems realize a net gain of Senate seats. Just two or maybe even just one is big trouble.
