The first replacement name I heard on Fox was Senator Mike Lee. That could be a great call - Lee is conservative/libertarian. The Senate has a history of limiting the worse kind of attacks when a Senator is the nominee for whatever office is under consideration, and I think Flake would not stand in the way of Lee. McCain is of course another story - but he likely won’t be there to vote anyway.
I am pretty sure Lee removed himself from any consideration some time ago, of course that was then.
His brother, Justice Thomas Lee of the Utah Supreme Court, would be even better.
