The owner of the Virginia restaurant responsible for kicking White House press secretary Sarah Sanders and her family out on Friday evening is stepping aside from leadership of a local business group.
Stephanie Wilkinson stepped down as an executive director of Main Street Lexington, an organization tasked with promoting economic viability, Fox News has learned.
Elizabeth Outland Branner, the president of the organization, accepted Wilkinson’s resignation Tuesday morning, WSLS reported.
“Considering the events of the past weekend, Stephanie felt it best that for the continued success of Main Street Lexington, she should step aside,” Branner wrote in an email.
The Washington Times reported that the volunteer-based organization “exists to enhance the economic prosperity and cultural vitality of our community, re-establishing downtown Lexington as the vibrant economic and cultural nexus of our area while maintaining its unique character,” according to its homepage. The group, established in 2013, is affiliated with the Virginia Main Street Program, which seeks to promote “economic revitalization in the context of historic preservation.”
As Fox News previously reported, Wilkinson told The Washington Post that she felt compelled to take a stand, citing what she called the Trump White House’s “inhumane and unethical” actions.
“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation,” Wilkinson told The Post. “I have a business, and I want the business to thrive.” But, she went on to say, “This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.”

Lexington, like Charlottesville, used to be charming towns, but both have been overrun with northeast leftists.

No. This lady does not typify Lexington at all. Don’t tar the whole city.
I believe she is part owner. Not s Sole Proprietorship.
My hope is that she either sells or reduces her ownership or at very least, give up active managership of the restaurant.

To lead a brigade of shriekers across the street for the purpose of stalking conservatives is creepy, and opens the restaurant up to liability for any related property damage or personal injury.

Considering the events which Stephanie instigated, which Stephanie initiated, which Stephanie decided to do, the fact that Stephanie decided to pick this fight.
It amuses me a bit, to read between the lines, and see what has been left out of this announcement.
I don't recall hearing the city denouncing her bigotry.
You have got to be kidding?? Why haven’t I heard this on the news?
She needs to bow out of her little yearn shop, too. She’s responsible for three other women that own this, and have (so far) kept their damn mouths SHUT.
I’m curious if Conservatives are allowed to buy yarn in her shop, and if so, can we only by ‘white’ yarn? *SNORT*

Good, but only symbolic. The turkey neck shriveled up old hag still hates normal people, is happy she kicked Sanders out, justifies it, encourages people to do the same, and would do it again.
That piece of information, if publicized, should be the last nail in the coffin for the Red Hen
No wonder they support open borders so the sex traffickers can bring them their children to abuse and drugs to use.
It’s not a city of hate. It’s one of the most beautiful small towns in America. I was lucky enough to spend four college years in Lexington while at VMI.
This is unfortunate for Red Hen as it’s a rather nice restaurant for such a small town. Though I’ve dined there previously, I won’t be returning.
