As the Dems go radical, Bill Clinton seems to see the danger of a red wave coming in November

Trump Derangement Syndrome is combining with resentment over the cheating of Bernie Sanders out of the 2016 presidential nomination to lead the Democratic Party toward an embrace of angry radicalism, which will result in rejection by voters on November 8.  Bill Clinton, who led his party to victory in the 1990s with moderation ("triangulation"), apparently sees the danger of the party repulsing mainstream Americans and gaining status as a radical minority, successful only in big cities.

Yesterday, he went on the little watched late-night program hosted by Trump-hating Trevor Noah and averred a "lot of respect" for the way Sarah Sanders handled her harassment and expulsion from the Red Hen restaurant.

Perhaps before going on air, he watched this video from the GOP showcasing the nasty extremism of the left these days:

I see Clinton as trying a little role-modeling and warning to his party about embracing hatred.

It will fall on deaf ears.

I am more and more optimistic over the possibility of the GOP holding the House and expanding its Senate majority.

Are we sure that’s not BJ Clinton’s service dog?

Clinton looks increasingly confused these days, and we know he never turns down “service”.

To ponder your hypothetical...

Rush was wrong, and Operation Chaos was a failure. I understand that he wanted to raise a ruckus and cause Hil grief, but ... in a reverse-inverse psychology sort of fashion, I think that helped O, and that was a bad thing.

The best thing that could have happened for us would be for Hil to have won that 2008 primary. She might have lost to McLame. If that were the case, we might have President Sarah right now. Wouldn’t that be lovely?

That aside, if Hil had won in 08, she would have been the same bitter pill she was in 1992-1993, and we saw how well that worked out for the D’s. Her Imperial nature would have most likely resulted in her being a one-termer, and replaced by someone with an R next to their name. (Unfortunately, that might have been Romney, but even that’s not worse than what we actually got.)

Best case scenarios aside, the bigwigs at the time, in 07-08 realized what a gift had dropped in their lap. They could have Hil, who they knew at the time already had big liabilities, or this slick, ‘clean and articulate’ unknown who would be an unassailable juggernaut due to his diversity quotient. So, they went with the O, and we got what we got. Hil went to the back of the line and waited her turn, and when her turn came, she blew it.

Did we luck out? Maybe. I think that, in the end, Trump truly is a Godsend for our nation, but ... if you read the book, Israel, and then Judah went through a cycle. Good king -> bad king -> good king -> worse king, etc -> conquest, captivity and exile. Are we on that same cycle? Maybe.

Either way, I’m afraid that if/when the Dem’s return to power, it’s going to be katy bar the door time, because they’re going to make Gen. Sherman look like a pussycat.

Danger of a red wave...? Why would it be dangerous? Oh, I forgot Trump is doing what the voters wanted...so to them, a red wave is dangerous to socialism...

McGovern was a legitimate war hero (24 bombing missions over Germany in a notoriously-dangerous B-24). I had to give him that despite his becoming a Full Libtard later in life. Today’s Libs vocally hate the military who saved the future for us.

I agree, which is why we need to institutionalize good law between now and then, so that mere executive actions cant dictate our lives. The dem party is so far left now its only base is radicalized communists, so hopefully they wont get that power again from the majority. But I don't think we can count on that, because as you point out, things go in cycles. So we have 6 years (thinking positively) to get the house back in order. Much to be done to prevent another Obama cycle.

I liked the Democratic Leadership Council’s centrist philosophy in 1992 and that’s the last time I voted Democrat.

The party has since gone from bad to worse. I didn’t stop being a Democrat; the Democratic Party Left me.

Bill Clinton has sound political instincts but they’re not listening to him today.

They’re gambling the country hates Trump enough to embrace full-throated socialism.

Reminds me of the old adage of a fool and his money are soonest parted.

That would be the Democrats.

Hope the Dims don’t glom onto his advice.

I used to wince when someone would out them, tipping them off on what not to do. However, they never seem to learn - or else are so sure of the Purity of their thinking, they ignore it.

A little ironic, since his wife is funding the “resistance” through her Resist organizations. She funded it in 2017 with leftover campaign funds and subsequent fundraising.
