Most voters fear that political violence is coming from opponents of the presidents policies, just as they did in the second year of Barack Obamas presidency, and nearly one-in-three think a civil war is next.
Thirty-one percent (31%) of Likely U.S. Voters say its likely that the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years, with 11% who say its Very Likely. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 59% consider a second civil war unlikely, but that includes only 29% who say its Not At All Likely. I hope you’re right, but the enemy-within continues to advance with each passing day.
Agreed......they are the rodents pushing for it 24/7.
I don’t think we will see a civil war, just a bunch of stupid airhead protesters being beat to a pulp in California and New York. Probably won’t last very long. The Asians will probably lead the charge.
All kinds of really nasty things happen in a civil war.
Not too many Serbians hanging around in Croatia these days...
History will show something similar to what happened 150 years ago.
For context, I refer you to a book entitled Civil War on the Western Border by Jay Monaghan published by the University of Nebraska Press.
This book dealt with the history of our country from 1854 - 1865.
Kansas was ground zero on the slavery issue and this book highlighted the very numerous incidents and vitriol which existed prior to Fort Sumpter.
Chapter 2 is entitled It Looks Very Much Like War: 1855
I am not suggesting nor do I know if there would be something similar but the history based on this book is sobering for reflecting what is happening today.
My grandfather fought in a real civil war and then got his education when the rebels he fought with were just as corrupt as the ones that were hung, shot or burned to death.
We talked about a "civil war" in the 1960's when there was National Guards deployed in over 20 universities, cities were being burned every summer and a presidential candidate was murdered and MLK was shot down like a dog.
He sat me down after I heard him chuckle when the the television said something about a "civil war" in the United States. He basically said..."for a man to take up a weapon and kill another man, his life or the life of his family must be in danger. Americans are too fat to kill each other yet. There is still food on the table and not enough anger or fear in the street."
He told me about riding along a railroad track and seeing men hung by the neck off of the telegraph poles for miles along the track. He said that neighbor killed neighbor and even relatives murdered each other for food or out of fear and it was the most horrible thing any person could live through.
We all may joke about a civil war but I can guarantee that most of us will not like the actual event. It's not going to be like "Call of Duty" or some video game...you don't get to respawn after 30 seconds and your wife and children aren't going to be burned or murdered then come back after you reboot the game. It would be horrible. Americans are real good at killing.....just ask any country that underestimated our ferocity and savagery we show in war.
“Only 3% of Americans fought in the revolution of 1776.”
I think it must have been higher than 3%. I have a dozen ancestors who fought in the state militias and three in the Continental Line. Which to me seems to indicate that participation was pretty broad based.
“see the DC baseball practice attack as an example.”
A John Brown moment, the first strike of a coming war.
Or you come from a very patriotic family...... ;)
>> You should avoid the south bashers here ...
It wasn’t really a North/South thing I was addressing so much as “If you piss enough people off, sooner or later one of them is gonna react”.
There were no winners in that a$$ whuppin’. Preston Brooks was censured, resigned, then promptly reelected. He died at age 37. The “whupee” - Sumner - was badly injured. He recovered, and remained in the senate for some 18 years.
Like I say, no winners.
NEWS FLASH!
It has already started but so far only one side is actively fighting.
Soros funded organizations, Clinton funded groups and Barack Obama's "Organizing for Action" (OFA) and others are actively fighting our elected president, engaging in seditious behavior, undermining the US Constitution and the rule of law, and trying to goad Trump supporters into taking the first overt steps into mass violence and bloodshed.
Rioting, shutting down free speech (as at Berkley), beating peaceful independents and conservatives (Berkley again), taking over ICE offices, hounding, berating and discriminating against administration officials are all attempts to push patriots over the edge.
Leftists know that if/when it happens they can count on the media to place the blame on the patriots.
With Kennedy retiring from SCOTUS, i think the probability just went up.
The Left have made it all but inevitable.

Things are going to get dicey over the next few months.
Stay safe.

And which side would I rather be on - the side that values firearms and does everything possible to keep them available to those who want them, or the side that wants to see them eliminated at all costs - hmmmmmm.....
They’ll explode in November.
I believe they will.

You have all of the resources you are going to have. Abandon your illusions and plan accordingly.

Also the poorest are actually the fattest in 2018 USA. It has never happened before in all of human history. It is hard for me to imagine sustained civil unrest occurring with these conditions persisting. On the other hand maybe there is a first time for everything.
