It's curious.

I think Peterson is a man for our time in history.

The last 3 years have been dominated by Trump and his vision for how to change America. Even Trump's opponents cannot deny his dominance of our consciousness.

Yet, the divisions in the country are still stark. Hatred abounds -- from both sides, but particularly on the Left.

And we recognize the each of us is locked into a certain idealogy we've used to describe our political positions.

Pederson and another guy I follow, Scott Adams, seem ideally poised to take us beyond today's silliness because they explain the psychological forces that power our world.

Is social media merely a passing fad? What's more enriching to me is finding these "prophets" who don't have a radio show or Fox News time slot.

YouTube and a fast converter give us fast access to these great thinkers, so we can enjoy their wisdom every afternoon on a walk about the neighborhood.

Certainly there are several attention-grabbing ideas competing for attention and interest. One is “Trumpism”, and it’s YUGE. Divisive, inspiring and surprisingly conservative in many ways. Then there’s the Left, out of the closet and in your face socialist with actual communism hovering behind it. Then there’s people like Jordan Peterson, Scott Adams, Joe Rogan, Dave Rubin and others. They’re looking at things almost apolitically, asking us to have open minds, or at least they’re encouraging people to think their own thoughts and question their preconceived beliefs.

It’s a fascinating time, as well as unsettling and sometimes scary.
