The judge blamed the "chaotic circumstance of the government's own making" for the turmoil surrounding the separation of migrant children from their parents.
A federal judge in San Diego ordered immigration agents on Tuesday to stop separating migrant parents and children who have crossed the border from Mexico and to work to reunite families that have already been split up while in custody.
U.S. District Court Judge Dana Sabraw issued a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit filed by an anonymous woman from the Democratic Republic of Congo and backed by the American Civil Liberties Union, which was expanded to become a class action as U.S. authorities began a "zero tolerance" policy in early May.
President Donald Trump issued an executive order to end the family separations last Wednesday, but the government has yet to reunite about 2,000 children with their parents.

Go fly a kite.
The SCOTUS just immigration is an executive branch responsibility and federal judges are not allowed to substitute their judgment for the Presidents.
Just ignore this illegal order.
Actually, if you sit and think about it....the judge basically said go ahead and toss the parents and the kids into the same holding camp...same bunks...same food...same guards. It actually saves everyone time and money...instead of shuffling people around.
Families can apply for asylum, full-up immigration, or just for a seasonal job visa situation. It’s not rocket-science or requiring a lawyer. Once you say that you don’t want to do any of the three options....well, you need to get used to Camp-Trump and the bunk-bed system.
Sure thing, judge.
We’ll reunite them.
South of the border back in their home nation.

Pretty sloppy IMO.
A Calif. federal jusge’s appointment would have been approved by the Calif Senators. Only by them.
There needs to be a way to fast track these cases to SCOTUS to get some kind of stay on these unconstitutional orders. It has become a game of whack-a-mole. They game the system and use the slow machinery of justice in their favor. They can make a ruling, knowing full well that it will be months or years before it gets overruled. It doesn't matter to them.
“Migrant families that lawfully entered the United States at a port of entry seeking asylum were separated. “
Those that entered at a “point of entry” probably have a case. Others, the vast majority, no.
So what law does this judge state in coming to her order?
If it is not good law then ignore her and impeach her.
filed by an anonymous woman from the Democratic Republic of Congo “
Remember all those lawsuits filed US CITIZENS requesting Obama’s birth certificate that were tossed out because the judge said they had no standing?
And this woman has standing?
Ya know.... I think it is time for a law saying that if a judge is overturned by a higher court, the entire cost of the appeal must be paid for out of the overturned judge’s pockets.
The way it is now, any mischief making judge can do anything with impunity, and only the taxpayers suffer.
Yeah judge knows she will be overturned and doesn’t care. It is an abuse of her position.
Tree.
Rope.
Judge.
Some Assembly Required.
How the hell does a non-citizen have standing in a U.S. federal court, on a matter that deals with border security and immigration enforcement - both of which are the exclusive purview of the POTUS?
Pray his life be greatly shortened.
Is it illegal to separate children if you arrest the parents for crossing illegally? Meaning, if a U.S. citizen breaks the law and is separated from his/her child, it is legal, right? My understanding of all of this is that the parents are going through the legal system because they were arrested. I presume they get their kids upon release from custody which could take a few weeks in some of their cases.
Yup.
In another recent decision, he ordered North Korea to keep testing missiles.
Another ‘Hawaiian judge’ in need of a Supreme Court smackdown.
Didn’t President Trump already order this?
Isn’t this moot since the President issued his executive order?
