Philip Rucker and Dave Weigel, two of the Washington Posts most incorrigibly biased anti-Trumpers, lead off their latest editorial thinly disguised as a news report this way:
President Trump on Sunday explicitly advocated for depriving undocumented immigrants of their due-process rights, arguing that people who cross the border into the United States illegally are invaders and must immediately be deported without trial or an appearance before a judge.
Trumps attack on the judicial system sowed more confusion. . . .
Rucker and Weigel are among the confused. Either that or they are hiding the ball.
8 U.S.C. §1182(f) of the U.S. Code confers on the president the power to turn away immigrants at the border. It provides:
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.
Rucker and Weigel do not mention this presidential power. But its existence undermines their suggestion that Trump would be denying due-process rights if he decided to deny entry to immigrants without granting them a trial or an appearance before a judge.

Can someone give the real answers to these questions?
Do the US Constitution and Bill of Rights apply to American citizens or anyone who comes across the border?
Once someone commits the crime of entering illegally and knowing it is illegal to do so, do they get rights to due process, lawyers , appeals and temporary housing with food and medical care for them and their children? (I know, a loaded question.)
Or is it like the carjacker who phoned the victim at home and told him his car should have been better taken care of? (one of the humorous crime stories).
“I think Cuba is a special case under the law”
That’s the way I remember it.
Unless your name is Elian Gonzales. Then you get the shaft from Beelzebubba.
Not sure if stopping imports would be a solution. It cuts both ways.
https://www.inside-mexico.com/what-does-mexico-export-to-the-us/
Mexico is currently our 3rd largest goods trading partner with
$531 billion in total (two way) goods trade during 2015. Goods
exports totaled $236 billion; goods imports totaled $295 billion.
The U.S. goods trade deficit with Mexico was $58 billion in 2015.
Congress needs to pass a law that states that asylum may only be applied for at one of the US embassies or consulates OUTSIDE the country. If you’re in the US you may not apply for asylum. Ergo those in the country illegally are to be deported immediately. They have no legal standing to be in the US or to bring a case.
Courts have held for many years that our Constitution and Bill of Rights apply to anyone here.
They need us more than we need them...their economy is not good right now...use the leverage we have...pressure banks to end illegal remittances, also works.
What part of illegal do you not understand?
“Weigels first stint [at the Washington Post] ended in 2010 after only three months, when emails he sent to now-defunct listserv JournoList, in which he made impolitic comments about some figures related to Republican politics and the conservative media, surfaced. He resigned, but the clear implication was that the paper didnt think he could be perceived as a fair chronicler of the beat he was covering.” (Huffpo)
Illegal Invaders have no Constitutional rights. They are citizens of another country.
High time to put some serious restrictions on Mexico, a country that is aiding and abetting this serious invasion by thousands of people whose only desire is to repopulate our country using children as their Trojan Horse!
Turn the invaders back to the US Consulate in Mexico and make them apply for entry into the USA. When entry is approved they can enter legally. Crisis solved, family’s stay together, no more tearing family’s apart. Then let the Border Patrol turn the illegal border jumpers loose back at the border heading south.
Ha! Like your take on this.
What are OTMs?
Today’s SCOTUS decision clearly delineating between citizen/residents and those seeking to enter illegaly may just render the due process argument moot.

ExclusiveRep. King: The Supreme Court Just Laid the Foundation for the Border Wall

Can he? It depends. Anything that changes the law is outside his purview. How it’s enforced and administered is entirely within it.
it is a damn good thing that the Germans couldn't invade America because then we would have needed a judge's permission before shooting them.
An illegal alien caught in the act of illegally entering the US should be summarily sent back directly. I also think that the first greeting than an illegal alien should get when they are jumping the border fence is a rubber bullet to the face.
