Harley Davidson announced the move back in April before there was threats of a tariff. Harley Davidson is using the poor pitiful me defense to justify their moving overseas. Harley was in trouble before any of this, their stock was falling and there is a downturn on the purchase of motorcycles due to several external factors. This is one crock of B.S. from Harley and its union employees.

No, he’s keeping it American.
I personally like him kicking tail, and I’m not American.

It is fascinating to watch our low-T press experience a true leader for the first time in their sorry little lives.

Who would want to buy a Thai Harley anyway? Does it come with chopsticks? A cute rider on the back?

Trump is being threatened by leftist harley executives using corporate assets and strategy in a manner to embarass the President. It's possible. Corporate America is now one of the pillars of progressivism, along with media and academia. I won't be surprised if HD released a model to appeal to millennials that comes in rainbow stripes and appeals to all genders.

I remember back when GWB was president and gas prices were really, really high people were buying lots of motorcycles . I wonder if Harley had over staffed etc and when gas came down people stopped buying them and started buying big suvs and pickups. Now Harley is having a hard time finding their niche. Any stats of sales during those years vs lately?

I think Hipsters and Soyboys aren’t going to buy Harley’s. Anyway, it sounds like they have planned this for a few years.

No...Trump making decisions for America and Americans.Americans have already made their decision regarding Harleys. They don't want them. The domestic market is dominated by Baby Boomers who are getting too old to ride.
The company's future is in Europe and Asia. So, they are putting the factories close to where their buyers are so they can stay connected to the people who actually want their products.

Harley-Davidson is trying to survive. It's building it's plant in Thailand because pulling out of TPP left it open for significant tariffs on motorcycles exported to Asia. It's manufacturing in Europe because the trade war has led to tariffs that made their imports into Europe no longer cost effective.
Trade wars are like any other wars. There are casualties, and the Harley employees in the U.S. are only the first wave of them.

There was also a time back then when you had to put a deposit on a Harley and wait a year to get it. Big fancy dealerships were popping up all over. It was so trendy to put on your very expensive faggy leathers and meet the other metrosexual fags at Starbucks.
Times change.

HD committed corporate suicide with this.

Who would want to buy a Thai Harley anyway? People in Asia. There's a big market for motorcycles there.
