Remember all it is doing is replacing the face. I don’t think there are a lot of porn stars out there shaped like a wrinkled pear.
I think it would be wise for someone in the conservative camp to prepare a technically well-done but clearly ridiculous video of a liberal in a porn film, like Hilary or Maxine, (or the two of them in a lesbian scene), and hold it in their pocket against the day someone bursts forth with an anti-conservative fake, in order to be able to immediately show how easily it can be done, and that we were expecting this.
Think of how the average person would live if they had unlimited $$$ and unlimited power. That’s how your average Joe will live in his virtual world.
Who would want to leave such world and fight traffic getting to a dead-end job?
Thanks AdmSmith.
Which was the cause, which was the effect?
Is it the real world driving people to virtual reality, or is it virtual reality enticing people away from the real world?
I’d say it’s more the former, as illustrated by the opioid crisis.
The institutions that used to provide psychological support, e.g., family and community and church, are dissolving.
My old college Philosophy professor (Robert Nozick) was famous for asking if you could plug yourself into a device that activated the pleasure center of your brain, why would you ever unplug yourself?
Thank you so much for that. I cried a little.
Don’t judge me!
The #1 reason this is in the news is because there are going to be some REAL damning videos of certain politicians and celebrities and they are going to point to this and try to make people believe it is fake.
I think you’re onto something.

I predict a return to cellulose for film tracing. Videos and video evidence don’t know how it can be a verification anymore without a simple physical copy.
Our method is based on detection of eye blinking in the videos, which is a physiological signal that is not well presented in the synthesized fake videos. Our method is tested over benchmarks of eye-blinking detection datasets and also show promising performance on detecting videos generated with DeepFake.

However:
This is where the new Facebook tool based on AI comes in as it can literally replace your closed eyes with an open pair just by studying as well as analysing your previous pictures. The idea of opening closed eyes isnt a new one in a portrait, however, the process involves pulling the source material from another photo directly and then transplanting it onto the blinking face.
Scenario: One real video will be released and then several videos that after a while can be shown to be fake will be released. Then most people do not trust the true video. Most of these fake videos are already prepared. However, these fake videos are prepared with actors.
Soon computer based fake videos will be produced as well. It is important to have good forensic tools.
Great info. Many thanks.
Some skilled prankster needs to add either Hillary or Obama for the missing man at Stalins left.
Thanks AdmSmith. The first use will be as an alibi when actual footage of Demwit crimes starts to surface.

One new danger hurtling towards us is deepfakes audio and video material created by software which depicts real-life people saying and doing things that they have never done or said. We have for years been familiar with the CGI techniques employed by filmmakers. They used to be laborious and costly. Now they are cheap and quick. Deepfakes could be used to make a politician seem ridiculous or reprehensibleor to issue an order to surrender.

Take the quiz: Can you spot the deepfake?

Important information that’s going to become even more important in the days ahead. Many thanks for the ping!
Repinging to my ping list!

You may notice that there was virtually no mention of deepfakes until after March 6, 2018. In that date a certain somebody stated there is a very damning video of HRC coming. Suddenly there has been a steady flow of “deep fake” news stories.
All deepfake videos on that page SUCK! Sure they add a bunch of crappy looking real videos to confuse you.
But you’re not gonna see an animated Trump walking around a stage...just a face from the front talking. Big deal.
Even if they get the video perfect, good luck on the audio.
