HALLELUJAH!
“Sure its great when were in the drivers seat, but imagine another Obama coming along. Hed take the cleaver to every decent judge he could.”
No. If he fires them and replaces them with a presidential appointment confirmed by the senate, then the Supreme Court’s ruling doesn’t apply—because the new ones are properly appointed.
That is a start. These guys need to go, maybe to a prison camp in Northeast Alaska
Well, that dream was certainly short lived.
Misleading articles and fake news once again.
Yeah.
‘Administrative judge’ isn’t a munificent position compared to practise, or an Article 3 position.
And this doesn’t seem to be “news” to me- though I might be mistaken.
Still, lots of Obama appointments could be replaced with real judges.
[[Maybe its time to write a speech or two about the notorious 9th Circuit Court. Let them sweat a little bit.]]
He should start writing cryptic tweets hinting that he will be firing them
My apologies to WashingtonPost24. Sorry.
Correct. The decision is about administrative judges appointed within the agencies, not district or appeals court judges who are nominated and confirmed by the Senate for life.
Don't get your panties moist guys; the Ninth Circuit and the Hawaiian district court nut isn't going anywhere.
Good news! This ruling is so needed.
Love this!
It is, and it's effect (even if fully taken advantage of) would be marginal. The fact of the story don't match the screeching headline.
Misleading headline from the known liars at the Washington Post...
The Supreme Court does NOT make laws.... Haha! S.M.H. They interpret the U.S. Constitution. The Legislative Branch makes law, and the President signs it.
Anyhow, President Trump always had this power. They are simply confirming it by a vote of 7 to 2.
I could use a better job. do you still need that law degree thingy and/or experience to be a judge?
You can only impeach a justice/judge that has been nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. You can't fire them or reduce their salary.
Now an administrative judge can be fired for almost any reason, so why try the reduction in salary?
Exactly so, Doughty!
This is why all new laws deserve DEEP contemplation before passage. Just look at the ramifications from the execrable 17th Amendment.
FAKE NEWS ALERT!
Literally, fake news. WashingtonPost24 is a fake news site, trying to get credibility by creating confusion between it and the Washington Post.
The Reuters article it quotes is real, but the commentary presented as news is not at all realistic.
(To wit: President Trump can’t just fire whatever federal workers he wants to without cause.)
Still the administrative law judges are making decision regarding the bloated and quasi illegal agencies that effect so much with so little due process.
