Shortened title.
Full title: Today I renounce my membership: Longtime GOP strategist Steve Schmidt announces hes leaving his party
Republican strategist Steve Schmidt, a senior adviser to the presidential campaign of Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), announced early Wednesday that he is leaving the Republican Party, which he decried as fully the party of Trump and a danger to our democracy and values.
In early-morning tweets, Schmidt, a vocal Trump critic, urged voters to elect Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections and harshly criticized the administrations policy of separating migrant children from their parents at the U.S. border, describing the government-run detention centers as internment camps for babies.
29 years and nine months ago I registered to vote and became a member of The Republican Party which was founded in 1854 to oppose slavery and stand for the dignity of human life, Schmidt wrote. Today I renounce my membership in the Republican Party. It is fully the party of Trump.

Winning. I don't get tired of it.
President Trump - I never get tired of typing that, either - has a knack for making leftists expose themselves. Here's one more that was part of the whole rotten GOP mess that's been festering for more than a couple of decades.
This guy is no more Republican than Hillary Clinton, though I'm sure that both of them would pose as Republican, so long as it furthered their own personal interests.

a sr. advisor to McCain, and McCain was intimately involved with the Steele dossier, and met with the Russian gal before she met with Trump jr. And he's resigning from the party? That doesn't make him immune to subpoenas.

Schmidt's McCain campaign strategy was way too wussy. He can by blamed (not by himself, of course) for allowing the constitutionally unqualified Obama to seize the presidency in 2008. Now he not only leaves the GOP, but is openly rooting for a 'Rat takeover of Congress this year. I think it may have something to do with the tension between Trump and McCain in the last election cycle.
Good bye, Schmitty, and don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Probably leaving the country. He’ll be married to a 12 year old boy in Thailand this time next week.
