Yup. Likely the next stop is the docs in question are probably reviewed by a judge to determine if privilege attaches. If it doesn’t, then they go to Congress. Stalling tactic most likely.

The Democrats very well may get away with it. They did not achieve the goal of anointing Clinton by coup, treason and felony votes but they will be ready next time because nothing will be done to prevent any of this from recurring.
