The latest outrage by the Trump administration is its policy of "ripping" children away from parents who've crossed the border illegally. As with so many other things involving Trump, there's plenty of emotion but precious little in the way of facts.
The furor reached critical mass after the Department of Homeland Security said on Friday that 1,995 children had been separated from their illegal border crossing parents from mid-April through May. That number included, DHS said, cases where the adults were arrested for illegal entry, immigration violations, or possible criminal conduct.
The practice has generated a rising storm of protests, including from Republicans, ever since Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the administration's "zero tolerance" for illegal border crossers. Laura Bush took to the Washington Post's op-ed page to decry it as "cruel" and "immoral." Trump supporter Franklin Graham called it "disgraceful."
Trump himself says he doesn't want to see families separated while the legal process works its way out, and then went on to blame Democrats for the problem.
So what's going on here?
First, it's important to note that many of the "separations" don't last long at all.
As Rich Lowry explains in a detailed article in National Review, "when a migrant is prosecuted for illegal entry, he or she is taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals," in which case, as when other adults are incarcerated in the U.S., they are separated from their children.
Lowry notes that "The criminal proceedings are exceptionally short, assuming there is no aggravating factor such as a prior illegal entry or another crime. Migrants generally plead guilty, and then are sentenced to time served, typically all in the same day."

Progress in a positive direction is never possible if you have a PC censors denying the actual causation of any problem or situation being addressed.
Here’s a story from 2014 of Hillary stating the same thing Trump does. The kids don’t belong there and should not expect to gain admission. Obama had same problem but found a way to keep it quiet when the U.S. media became politicized. http://www.newsweek.com/hillary-clinton-immigration-children-daca-661952 .
“Thank God that schools are out for the summer.”
In Texas, our school children are exposed to children from s**thole countries who have no training in common hygiene, have no vaccinations, and cannot speak English so they can’t understand instructions.
We share our tax money, free food and schooling with them, and they share their germs and head lice with our children. What a curse it is to live in a border state
but it will soon be coming to your town, too.

I’m in Texas. I hear ya.
Vaccination schedules are hard to verify with a lot of these
incoming children I would guess.

Key fact: when people from other countries cross the US boarder in places other ports of entry, they are committing a crime (misdemeanor for the first offense and felony for the second);
Key fact: when US criminals are apprehended their children are taken to foster care;
Key fact: Many of the children are not children but young adults (MS-13 and the like);
Key fact: many of the children are not the children of the adult that used them to cross the border to get admitted (rent a kid, snatch an orphan in he home country);
Key fact: quit whining about Clinton era laws now being enforced by DJT.
And like Laura Ingraham said, when parents are arrested in the United States, if children cant be placed with relatives, they become wards of the state. What do Americans expect?
“The Department of Homeland Security says that from October 2017 to February 2018 it saw a 315% increase in the number of cases with minors FRAUDULENTLY posing as family units to gain entry.
Do you have a link for that———I would like to use that info as a “weapon” in my arguments?

“I say fly each family back to the country they came from”
They walked here, they can walk back. If
Mexico won’t accept them, let Mexico foot
the bill to fly them back to their
countries of origin. Democrats are of
the mindset that the US is responsible
for someone else’s bad decision. Playing
on emotion instead of laws.
Flying them back, makes sure they go back - we can find other ways for Mexico to pay for the flights
Mexico could stop the hordes from
streaming north (at their own
borders). They are aiding these
people breech US borders. Mexico
is letting them thru...Mexico
should pay for their extradition.
Trump has ticked Mexico off, and
letting these people thru their
country is a way (in their minds)
of getting even. Just my opinion.
I agree, but while all of that is happening and tens of thousands more enter and stay in our country - fly them back and eventually give Mexico the bill.
ORPHANAGE
Separated children reside in an Orphanage.
Problem solved.
Now, call it an ORPHANAGE.
