We need to have our own permanent underclass who through whatever circumstances does not send UNTAXED income back to their friends in another country, or as a base to bring yet more untaxable aliens here. any natural population will have its own stratification. We do need to have a class of people who will accept the role of servanthood like the rest of it, being able to take and execute general orders given by those who have gotten wise enough to give them. For many, the lower income phase may be merely transitory, yet a blessing for all who are thus employed, and provide for themselves.

I'd bet if the 1967 data was multipled so that the graph was as tall as 2016; the RATIOS between the categories would be almost identical.

We need to have our own permanent underclass...I've heard of a fella that said; about 2,000 years ago IIRC;
"The poor will be with you ALWAYS."

The lazy unemployed are going to have to leave their cushy big city welfare positions to find the well paying jobs.
Wage inflation is going to occur but it will be in jobs not in the corrupt cities.

"The poor will be with you ALWAYS." Completing what Jesus said:
". . . ut Me yes have NOT a;ways." =======
Yeah, that's what was in my mind, but chose not to be redundant when the context was a bit more complex. There are two kinds of "poor":
(a) materially
(b) spiritually
(In copy/pasting from my comment, one should carry through the sense by lining through the "under" part, or eliminating it.)

Yes, there IS a wage shortage. I don’t believe in a government mandated minimum wage, I think government should get out of the way but at the same time I realize that fifteen dollars an hour will not buy as much as a dollar and a quarter would buy when that was the federal minimum wage in 1963. Young men used to finish high school, go to work, get married and become married homeowners with one or two children by age 22 to 25. Now they go to a university and come out at that age with a huge debt and go to work for a salary that is maybe equal to what a new high school graduate made sixty years ago, IF they are lucky! Worse yet, in many subjects, the university graduates could not pass the eighth grade final from sixty years ago.
As Ronald Wilson Reagan said, “Government is not the solution, government is the problem.”

Illegals need to go home first.
