President Trump challenged Democrats to “come to the table” to fix the country’s immigration system, saying Monday that the current battle is over whether the U.S. should have borders.
Speaking at the White House Mr. Trump said the U.S. “will not be a migrant camp.”
He said if Congress can find agreement on a way to update what he called the “worst immigration laws in the entire world” it could be a trendsetting move for the rest of the globe.
“Just remember — a country without borders is not a country at all. We need borders, we need security, we need safety,” Mr. Trump said.

The Bushies tried to elect Neel Kashkari governor last time around, and he was like the cherry on top of the whole California Migrant Camp sundae.

The fight was surrendered in 1987 when Reagan signed the first amnesty bill. The final defeat came on 1-20-09 when 0bama began his “transformation” of this once great nation.
I give DJT credit for trying to fight this losing battle. But between the 1987 amnesty bill and 0bamas reign of destruction the damge is irrepareable. The demographics have turned and the vast majority of those under 35 are 0bama style liberals. The good folks here FR are rapidly becoming the minority, if we aren’t already the minority.

However.
Trump should not trust any immigration legislation the GOPe Congress asks him to sign without going over every single word in it.
