FBI agent Peter Strzok volunteers to go before Congress...

The top FBI agent explicitly named throughout the recent Justice Department inspector general report as having anti-Trump bias will voluntarily go before Congress.

In a letter sent Saturday and made public Sunday to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, the lawyer for Peter Strzok says he will voluntarily appear and testify before the panel, and “any other Congressional committee that invites him.”

Aitan Goelman said the idea that Strzok would have to be subpoenaed to appear is “wholly unnecessary.”

Exactly!

Recall IRS's Lerner pinning boob Gowdy's ears back with the 5th. That deer in the headlights-look!

That sandlapper idiot never saw it coming!

Under oath, no immunity?

Don't think he'll need immunity as he's going to plead the fifth amendment for every question after his name.

Why do so many still think the report was a flop? Haven’t they been paying attention after doing their initial knee-jerks over it?

Caww, I pray the guilty will be punished but every time I take a look ... the guilty are never punished. I’d like to be wrong, this time, but filth breeds filth and regrettably D.C. is busy breeding

Won’t mean a thing if he’s not under oath.

Something wickedly is cooking!! IG report flop, now this..bastards are up to something!! I’m extremely skeptical!

The IG report is not a flop! It's extremely damaging to the bad guys. Skip the Executive Summary and the Conclusions. They're red herrings. The meat is in the report itself. Be sure to read the footnotes. My guess is that DOJ lawyers wrote the summary and conclusion.

The truth and nothing but the truth

Best joke of the day so far. Maybe for the week.

Strzok expects attention before Congress, big time interviews on The View and Ellen and morning CNN and NBC shows.

Question: Why did you feel the need to help our country by accepting the book deal to tell your story?

Thirty city major book signing tour with local adulatory interviews.

Future president Elizabeth Warren gives him Attorney General job which Dem Congress quickly approves.

Help me wake up from this nightmare.

People at his level do not do anything without direction from their superiors. Period.

I am in no way defending him because the text messages and apparent actions are indefensible. However, I think we only know a small slice of the whole story.

I am confident he acted on orders from above.

I am also growing confident that the FBI at the outset of the investigation was the victim of a push-pull disinformation campaign by Brennan/Clapper using CIA, State, and allied intelligence where dossier quality information was being funneled to the 7th floor of the FBI by other sources as “credible” information backed up by “other sources” of information to corroborate it. To a certain extent, I think the FBI was played hard. Again, does not excuse what happened, but the main takeaway is that there are many other people deserving of scrutiny and scorn for the mess that was created.

All the focus on FBI (as the fall guy) will prevent a full accounting of what occurred and allow more sinister actors to walk. For this reason, I hope Strzok is truthful because he has to realize that he was the disposable puppet and a useful fool. I think this is why Gowdy made the inexplicable remarks a few weeks ago after being briefed on what started the investigation - he clearly said “anyone would want the FBI to act on what they heard.” This is why they have fought Nunes so hard - they do not want to reveal what they were TOLD by others in our government because that is where the big conspiracy lives.

Bongino has done the best job of explaining this and was the first one to really connect the dots.

I would prefer a grand jury under oath, but this could be a good start.

IG doesn’t recommend prosecutions.

That’s Huber’s job.

“Why do so many still think the report was a flop?”

I think it is because most people don’t understand “legalize” and the Democrats are taking advantage of that to spin the report.

Specifically, the report said they found no evidence of bias affecting the investigations into Clinton email or Trump/Russian collusion.

The Democrats are saying that means they found there was no bias.

Because people don’t understand how lawyers talk, many believe the Democrat interpretation - that there was more no bias - when in fact they found a huge amount of bias - and considered it likely to have tainted both investigations - but that it was impossible to prove it without being mind readers.

So for people who don’t understand “legalize” it is possible to believe the report’s conclusion was the opposite of what it actually was.
