A woman who allegedly shouted "Allahu akbar" attacked two people with a box cutter at a supermarket in southern France on Sunday before she was arrested, local media reported.
The incident took place around 10:30 a.m. at the supermarket Leclerc in the Mediterranean city of La Seyne-sur-Mer, located near Marseilles.
Witnesses told Var-matin the young woman attacked a customer and employee.
The woman was dressed in black and wearing a veil at the time, shouting "Allahu akbar" -- "God is great" in Arabic -- before she was placed under control by people intervening, according to Var-matin.
Europe 1 radio quoted Toulon prosecutor Bernard Marchals as saying that a customer in the store in La Seyne-sur-Mer was injured in the chest in the Sunday morning attack and hospitalized.
A woman at the market's cash register was injured too, but less seriously.
Marchal said the suspect may have mental health problems, but has not been identified as police search her home.

I have owned shotguns and rifles in France with no hassles. Although I have a CCP in America and often carry when I am away from home, in France I have always enjoyed a particular freedom. Example:A number of years ago a law was passed making pump shotguns “Semi-automatic_weapons.” I am known through the Limousin area and elsewhere as a dangerous competitor in Trap and accomplished hunter. One of my favorite guns is my old Model !2 Winchester. One day a year or so after the law was passed, a Gendarme I knew asked me when I was going to “register” my Model 12. I told him “Never.” He laughed and said, “I don’t blame you.” I have never registered it.
Also a few years ago, the houses on each side of mine, the house across the street, the butcher and baker down the street a bit and one other were all robbed. My house was not touched. Perhaps you might wonder why...............
The smart people in France own guns. Nobody is going to hassle you if you have a hunting license.

AGAIN, I did NOT say France is the land of outlawed guns.
My Dad was a champion Skeet shooter in NATO in the late 1960’s. I inherited his Beretta made four gauges O/U shotgun skeet set (xtra 12 ga. bbls for Trap). Dad shot Trap only occasionally but it is a fine set with fore ends for each gauge.
That said, I remarked that shotgun ownership is relatively hassle free in France, but what about handguns? I recently acquired a MAB Pa-15 9mm pistol also from the 60’s, and I am convinced that no ordinary Frenchman could get a license to own it.
Gun ownership is so much simpler in Amerique.
As I said, I have no idea about owning handguns in France. I do know some who have handguns and will inquire when I am there next month.
I have a Beretta 20 ga. for small game and birds, but most of my guns for hunting and Trap are Brownings.

Instead of running your mouth in denial why don’t you check the archives and find out the attitude of so many Freepers toward the French? I’m not a liberal and will however ALWAYS return a lie or slam with a slam of my own. I do not wither up in a weepy ball like so many women. When you lie, expect to be called on it. You will be insulted in return.
I received my first A-5 for Christmas 1950. I still hunt with it. I have three superposed for Trap and two for hunting. Gave another away to an English friend who could not get a gun in his own country.Also have a few rifles, etc. and a .38 Special. My favorite “perfume” is gunpowder. ;>)
You claim to not be a Liberal but you surely show all the symptoms.
You make a claim then expect ME to research it.

Again, you - as a typical liberal does - don’t come up with facts, you insult and badger then ‘hide’ behind your skirt while insulting others.
You definitely need a lesson in what a ‘lie’ is and NORMAL people try to ‘straighten’ out the lie before jumping into insult mode.
