Dan Pfeiffer, former assistant and senior adviser to President Barack Obama, thinks he knows the exact date the modern era of fake news was born: April 27, 2011.
“I had walked into the briefing room that morning with 50 copies of Barack Obama’s birth certificate,” Pfeiffer recalls in a memoir, “Yes We (Still) Can: Politics in the Age of Obama, Twitter, and Trump,” set to be published next week. “So we could prove once and for all the man who was in his third year as president after winning an historic electoral landslide was an American citizen and eligible to be president.”
According to Pfeiffer, Obama first raised the idea to release his birth certificate to him while walking to the Oval Office.
“Maybe we should put the birth certificate out and be done with this,” Obama said.
“But you know we can’t do that, right?’” Pfeiffer responded.
Obama said he agreed, but “I could tell he didn’t really mean it,” Pfeiffer writes.
A few weeks later on a fundraising trip to Chicago, Obama spent the night at his home.
“Whenever he was home, often alone, he would root through all his stuff; on this particular trip, he was going through a box and found what he believed was his birth certificate,” Pfeiffer writes. “To this day, it isn’t clear whether he stumbled upon this document or went looking for it. I have always suspected the latter.”
“Excited about his find,” Obama brought it back to the White House and showed it to White House counsel Bob Bauer.
“Bauer took one look at what Obama had in his hand and knew it wasn’t his actual birth certificate,” Pfeiffer recalls. “Instead the president had found a ceremonial document sold in hospital gift shops.

Obama’s birth place on the certificate is Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital. That marriage of the two facilities did not occur until 1978 when zero was 17.
That’s pretty huge.
Obama appointed both a new National Archivist (David Ferriero) and a new Librarian of Congress (Carla Hayden).
Ferriero had held academic posts and had been head of New York Public Library. The National Archivist is, among this duties, in charge of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
Carla Hayden was head of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, i.e. the public library of Baltimore. Previous to that she headed the Chicago Public Library. Obama in appointing her Librarian of Congress spoke of his and Michelle’s having known her from Chicago.

Odd that Pfieffer doesn’t start with the real birth of fake news: Obama’s repeated claims in print that he was “Born in Kenya” (well, assuming he wasn’t). I’ll grant that Pfieffer is a crafty, smooth, deliberate liar in the book excerpt.
1) He breezes through a claim that the first COLB (Put online by anonymous Obama’s minions) was the actual document created by the hospital to report the birth to the State. Uh, nooo. That was a computer abstract, generated c. 2008. It was indeed, very fake news.
2) The “Obama found a copy of his old Birth Cert in a box of his mother’s things” story has been repeated 100’s of times — but always with the FAKE NEWS implication that it was a real BC. P. is admitting for the first time that what Obama found was a FAKE BIRTH CERTIFICATE. And we are to believe that Mr. Genius Constitutional Law Professor had to be told by a real lawyer that the document he “found” was a “gift shop souvenir”? If that’s not all BS, it implies that Obama never saw his “real” BC throughout his life. He knew his birth narrative was a fraud; that’s almost sad.
3) P pretends they didn’t publish a real birth certificate because it’s conventional wisdom not to give an unprovable accusation legs by responding. We’re not supposed to notice that that does not apply when you can trot out hard evidence that KILLS the story and embarrasses your opponents. P. makes it clear: Obama either doesn’t have a real birth certificate, or it shows him to be a liar.
That is when it began and anyone who says anything different is just plain wrong. The article is written by an Obama person.
One more thing, when the lamestream media started screaming "fake news" all over the place, Donald Trump did a magical thing, he pointed his finger at CNN and proclaimed them "fake news."
He done grabbed the term and successfully reapplied it. The lamestreamers were left sputtering. It was a very delicious moment.

The only thing fake is this guy and his book. There is indisputable proof that the birth certificate is a complete forgery. This proof is even backed up by companies who do forensic analysis. They signed off on the birth certificate being a fake. Zulu has tons of evidence. Always was and Always will be a fake.
Gallups and Zullo don’t offer anything new that I noticed but take note of the timing of the new book trying to reinforce the fake BC narrative with new details as significant.
They also note that the overwhelming volume of comments (4,700+ as of now) on the Yahoo article are that the BC is a fake! Not what the Deep State is hoping for.
The probably didn’t start issuing the kind of birth certificate Obama first posted in 2007 until much later than 1961. I imagine even then they did have ways of recording birth statistics as they came in the door, but yeah not on a “computer”, but it’s immaterial. The point is he posted a document in 2007 that was created in 2007 based on data held by the state in 2007. We saw that such a document would prove nothing conclusively about what happened in 1961.
He knew he did not have a BC, so did his “ghost” writer Bill Ayers, and so they conveeeeeeeniently dropped it right into the glorious story. It’s the stuff that drops from the back of a bull.
What a waste of cyberspace this article was. The “birth certificate” he showed was fake; it had photoshop LAYERS in it.

Forensic document experts proved that it was a clumsy forgery.
The Hawaii DOH said they accept whatever the parents put down as their race.
In the 1962 Kenya census one of the racial categories was “African”.
A 1961 US Government manual said for the race of parents on birth certificates if the parent is colored and born in the US use the designation “Negro” but if the parent was not born in the US use the designation “other nonwhite”.
