Antarctic melting faster than evah!
This has been the global warming scare story of the week, heavily promoted by the usual suspects, including Time, CBS, the Washington Post, the Guardian, the New York Times and, inevitably, the BBC.
Here is the BBC version:
Antarctica is shedding ice at an accelerating rate.
So its over, right? The Warmunists were right, the deniers were wrong and global warming is a super serial crisis we need to deal with NOW not the day after tomorrow
Actually no.
The first thing to note is that the study is published in Nature, which is alarmist central and therefore to be treated with a degree of skepticism.

Satellites monitoring the state of the White Continent indicate some 200 billion tonnes a year are now being lost to the ocean as a result of melting.
This is pushing up global sea levels by 0.6mm annually a three-fold increase since 2012 when the last such assessment was undertaken.
How in the hell can they measure 0.023622 of an inch???
So, in 50 years the seas will have risen by 30 millimeters or 1 inch and we are doomed????

Reading the comments after the Nature article shows how desperate and political this issue has become for the left.
Nature and Science are political science rags.
This here is the best thing I have ever seen on Antarctica. It is a 2-hour NOVA and shows what Antarctica does that is so spectacular for the Earth.
If you can’t watch it now save it for later and get a snack:

LOL!
Meanwhile parts of Hudson’s bay is still covered with ice and it’s gonna snow in northern Quebec in a couple of weeks.

"We find large variations in and among model estimates of surface mass balance and glacial isostatic adjustment for East Antarctica, with its average rate of mass gain over the period 19922017 (5 ± 46 billion tonnes per year) being the least certain."
Five plus or minus 46 is practically the same as saying that its a coin flip as to whether or not the ice is increasing or decreasing. As with the models used to predict global warming, the chances are good that such models have ZERO predictive value. It's not science when it can't be repeated and obviously not all the models agree.
