Two housekeepers in Vermont were hospitalized Wednesday after they unknowingly ate marijuana edibles that were left behind by guests at Shelburne Farms, police said.
The housekeepers, who have not been identified, decided to taste what they believed to be be malted milk balls placed in a box labeled salted caramel chocolates, Shelburne police told the Burlington Free Press.
Shortly after, both employees fell ill -- one of whom was so sick she was found lying in the inns driveway, the newspaper reported.

> There have been deaths due to THC
No there haven’t. Not one ever. Where in the world are you getting your information?
Jim’s college g/f encouraged him to try the marijuana brownies so he’d “loosen up”, as he was a straight-laced genius. One bite and he went ‘naners and it destroyed his life.
Of course, the reason there hasn’t been *one* death from marijuana is because there have been several. And when you add in marijuana related deaths, the number becomes much greater.
I get my info from a variety of sources, either from the medical literature or other sources that rely on the medical literature, like the National Institute on Drug Abuse. One “source” I do not use is NORML, since it is nothing but propaganda (no doubt written by pushers who have a financial interest in increasing the number of addicts).
Hotels often leave food items for guests; the housekeepers may very well have thought the candies were gifts meant for the guests and helped themselves.
And people eat food all the time when they don’t know where it came from or don’t know who is providing it. Ever eat at a restaurant? Ever buy food from a street vendor? Gee, when I was in grad school, more than a few times, someone would run into the lab and say, “Hey everyone, someone left bagels by the elevator!” And we would drop whatever we were doing and run out to the elevator and eat bagels. They were delicious.
Some “Cabbage” on My Salad!
I have yet to see any evidence from you on this thread.
If there is an LD50 in rats, it is not very different from the LD50 in humans.
Wrong, because as I noted larger lab mammals have proved unkillable with THC.
There have been deaths due to THC
But not fatal overdoses ... keep moving those goalposts.
Microdosing is worth researching.
The good thing for these ladies is that when you eat the MJ its effect doesn’t last as long as when taken in other forms......................
“Why would anyone eat anything left behind in a hotel room???”
I used to work housekeeping in a motel. Oh Hell no. I saw enough bad stuff.
If you read that article you wouldn’t have posted a link to it. Try to meet a standard of discussion above “I put my prejudice into Google and copied the first link without reading it”.
Getting info from a catastrophically failed big government agency rife with conflicts of interests and run by a Mexican is definitely the gold standard for knowledge gathering.
“The number of drivers involved in fatal crashes in Colorado who tested positive for marijuana has risen sharply each year since 2013,’”
So people have died from THC
No they didn’t. They died from car crashes.
Your arguments are identical to gun controllers who think that guns and not people are responsible for firing them.
“The good thing for these ladies is that when you eat the MJ its effect doesnt last as long as when taken in other forms......................”
Strange. Everything I’ve read says edible effects last much longer than any other method. Just much slower in taking effect.
That has not, uh, hmmm, uh, been my experience...................
That’s like saying “No one has died from alcohol. Their body killed them”
Guns have no direct influence on people’s behavior. It doesn’t cause you to go to sleep or reduce your reaction time or want to go to Taco Bell. Alcohol and weed do.
Look up Rick Simpson oil.
The cause of death for a drunk driver who kills himself is “auto accident”, not “alcohol overdose”.
The political goal-seeking you are engaged in right now is a characteristic of the far left. And as I have no patience for dishonest debaters, concede the self-evident fact above or consider this discussion over.
For intravenous administration. "An LD50 was not attainable in monkeys and dogs by the oral route. Enormous dose levels (over 3000 mg/kg of Delta 9 THC) were administered without lethality to most animals." - Thompson, G. R., et al.: "Determine, Toxicity of delta 8 and delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol and Marihuana Extract," Reports IXIX to the National Institute of Mental Health (1971)
The lesson? Don't shoot up THC!
