The missile test site North Korean leader Kim Jong-un promised U.S. President Donald Trump to destroy is a large-scale facility in Tongchang-ri, North Pyongan Province. The regime conducted a vital test of an engine for intercontinental ballistic missiles there last year.
"Kim promised Trump during their summit on Tuesday to dismantle this facility," a diplomatic source said. He said that Kim presented the offer as a kind of surprise card to Trump, who is known to like showy outcomes.
Trump immediately told the press about it after the summit. "It seems that Trump is giving priority to deterring the North from developing ICBM capabilities that threaten the U.S. mainland over the complete, verifiable and irreversible dismantlement of nuclear weapons," a pundit said.
"It's possible that Kim Jong-un, who is well aware of this, told Trump about his plan to dismantle the Tongchang-ri facility to make the U.S. president trust him."
The North conducted a combustion test for a new high-powered liquid-fuel engine at Tongchang-ri on March 18 last year and succeeded in test-launching a Hwasong-14 ICBM with that engine four months later. The Hwasong-14 reportedly has a range of 10,000 km, placing the western U.S. mainland within reach.

WINNING!
This was Japan’s big concern....Missiles...
That saying gets everybody twitterpated here, but it’s retarded, and a joking translation of a cynical Russian proverb. If you run around and have to verify everything someone does, that is not trust. If you trust someone you don’t need to verify. It would make more sense to say we don’t trust them, and we will verify everything they say
Trust must be earned.
Here we are just days after the first US-DPRK summit and Kim is already taking concrete steps to dismantle his programs. But it's not fast enough for these idiots.
So, Reagan made an Oxymoronic statement which a lot of people are quoting....
Do we know if they have another test site?
According to some news (provided here on FreeRep) before the summit was announced it was reported that massive new infrastructure facilities were being built in a new restricted zone in North Korea where nuclear testing and missile testing had not been conducted in the past, and what was being constructed looked like wmd and missile facilities.
That would go along with previous NK agendas where they told us something was no longer being done at X, when they had already started doing the same at Y.
Will Bolton and Pompeo acknowledge this in our negotiations with NK, or ignore it, just to get a deal done, as Obama did with too many things.
I dont see the conflict. Trust is defined in the dictionary as firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. Belief is not the same as knowing with certainty. A supervisor trusts valued subordinates but verifies their work periodically. Wheres the retardation?
Looks like Kim wants to see those beachside condos and skyscrapers going up ASAP ;D.
Did a search. NBC reported it, and the others NOT.
I could explain it more clearly for you, but I can’t find a crayon.
All this adolescent taunting will surely take us right to heaven.
If so, this might be as though “Trust” were in scare quotes here. A probationary attitude is right. Don’t automatically assume the worst, but don’t be blind either.
I might be mis-remembering. But I think “Trust but verify” was a rough translation of a Russian quip. It was clever in that is sent a message to Russia and may have meant something a bit different to the rest of the world.
(Russian proverb or something?)
Appears to me that this is a mutual gesture counter to Trump ending military exercises in S Korea.
Forget the crayon. You obviously dont understand the actual meaning of certain words in English, so I doubt you could even if you tried using the video display at Jerry World.
Prove it.
RE: Prove it.
Here’s what I observe so far....
The things they are dismantling or destroying are things they no longer need. They wrecked their mountain with a high yield nuclear test. They obviously have a working design. No need for an already destroyed facility.
So, they keep the design and destroy a site that is no longer needed, inviting foreign journalists to view the destruction.
They’ve managed to build a missile with intercontinental range. Again, They have a functional engine design. That site served its purpose.
When they start breaking down centrifuges, turning over HEU and Pu-239 AND allow American inspectors to double check, while giving up a warhead, THEN, maybe we’re talking but not until.
