Today is the day that many of us have been looking forward to, the much delayed release of the DOJ Office of Inspector General's report on the mangled Clinton email investigation.

Those of us who have been obsessing over this knew how it would go: the forces of denial, led by the likes of Adam Schiff, would leak the report to get the first reports out and shape the narrative in the way most favorable to them. We know and expect this.

To get a head start on working out the truth I thought it would be useful to have a discussion thread on the topic, across all the many news reports and blogger commentary that is sure to rain down like a deluge in a couple hours.

The key Lib talking point is in the lede, as you'd expect, and we can expect this to be repeated like a mantra by the MSM and Obama Complicit Media all day long: he wasn’t motivated by politics.

We don't even know if the OIG report says that yet, we just know that Bloomberg, ABC and CBS are fast out of the gate to tell us that is what is says.

One example cited in the new report is an email exchange between Strzok and Page on Aug. 8, 2016. Page questioned whether Trump would become president. Strzok replied: “No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it.”

“While we did not find that these decisions were the result of political bias on Comey’s part, we nevertheless concluded that by departing so clearly and dramatically from FBI and department norms, the decisions negatively impacted the perception of the FBI and the department as fair administrators of justice,” Inspector General Michael Horowitz said.

If Page and Strzok operated under Comey, Comey is- or should be- FULLY responsible. The two statements above are in conflict, and the first one seems inoperative.

Representatives Jerrold Nadler and Elijah Cummings, the top Democrats on the House Judiciary and Oversight committees, said in a statement that “the stark conclusion we draw after reviewing this report is that the FBI’s actions helped Donald Trump become president.”

The corollary then is:
A) The FBI was working for Russia to help Trump win, and
B) there was absolutely no collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign since it was the FBI itself that "won" the election for Trump.
